MELBOURNE FIXTURE 2014:

STK, WC, GWS, CAR, GC, SYD, ADE, WB, RIC, BYE, PORT ,COL ,ESS, NTH, WB, FRE, GEE, PORT, BRI, HAW, GWS, WC, NTH

HISTORY:

He was drafted by Melbourne with the fourth selection in the 2012 AFL Draft, after playing for Woodville-West Torrens in the South Australian National Football League. Made his SANFL senior debut late in the 2011 season and he played in Woodville West-Torrens' 2011 premiership side in only his fifth game. He was the captain of the South Australian team at the 2012 AFL National Under 18 Championships and was named in the All-Australian team at the conclusion of the tournament. The midfielder is a good decision-maker and elite kick. Surgery on both his hips before the start of the 2013 season didn't help his progress but the Dees see him as a long term project.

VERDICT:

Had an injury interupted preseason and first season with the Dees but showed glimpses of what he is cable of. With low scores of 9,11,19 during the season his average was affected and will be cheaper as a result. What will his price be in 2014 ? ill have a guess and say $230,000 ? if he is, he will cost more than the high draft picks in the 2014 Nab Draft but he might be worth it. With a full preseason behind him, Paul Roos coaching him and a good showing in the Nab will he get a spot in your midfield for the start of 2014 ?

PLAYER PROFILE UPDATE:  24/12/2013 ..Valued at $259,400 there are too many other fantasy relevant players ahead of him in this price range and lower, having said that you could do much worse and i think he will be good this year raising his value significantly.

Jimmy the Gun 8)

Would need to win some of his own ball more often to be fantasy relevant :-\ He'll get there, loving the Roos move now! ;D

You would have to be very happy if you were a Dees supporter, Roos will take them in the right direction.

Still don't rate him, he's gonna have to do some very special stuff in 2014 to win me over.

I don't disagree he did look a little average, but i think it's a bit hard to judge him on his first season playing with a very unsettled team and having the injuries he had with very little preseason fitness.

Not bad scores, VFL yes but i think he has potential to have a good year in 2014

Nah, even before he was drafted to Melbourne. He was one of the few guys I was never a massive fan of, tbh.

henry

Definitely looking at him, will be not much over rookie priced. Has shown enough for me, to show that he could be a good pick with another pre season and some strong coaching.

Will definitely put money on him for the rising star if he's eligible.

Jukes

Using last year's MN he'll be at $246,170. If only he was 50k cheaper, he'd be a very good option, 250k is a very awkward price for a developing player and not injury-hit guy with a past.

With the wealth of midfield options, don't think he'll be in my side.

how did you work that out Jukes?

Jukes

Times their average by the magic number, which last year was 5150. Would think it'd be a bit higher next year though

Colliwobblers

going to be a player you'd think but not expeting much from him next season even under Roos

Rusty00

Can't see how he'll be worth picking over a rookie. Pass for me.

I call the biggest BS

Toumpas on paper before he played his first game was an out and out gun. Played through a bung hip to ton up in the under18s champs, AIS, SA captain at the 18s champs, 2 years in the SANFL, played in an SANFL premiership...the kid is a gun and just needs a good chance to prove it. Injury interrupted first year and wasn't given the best chance to improve. He will get there stop trolling and making shower calls like that!
