Collingwood going for short term pain in order to achieve massive long term gain.

Next year I can see the same, maybe even out of the 8 with North, GC and Adelaide's stupid draw emerging.

No Shaw or Thomas will hurt any chances next year and they'll have to wait a bit for Jesse White to settle and support Cloke

I wouldn't think Daisy going makes any difference...he mad no impact last season.. ;D

Either did Collingwood ;D

Yeah but they could have....if they wanted to.... ::)

Will be interesting to see how the pies salary cap looks after these changes. It seems that they must be saving space for moves next year. The old "war chest" trick.

Also you guys are going to pick up Tony Armstrong at the PSD. Enjoy him  :P

Even in the short term I reckon Collingwood will be alright, the youngsters they have added should make an impact sooner rather than later.

Collingwood's VFL side has signed Tom Couch.

Armstrong set to join Magpies

THE SYDNEY Swans have cleared the path for Tony Armstrong to join Collingwood as a delisted free agent, cutting the midfielder ahead of Thursdays list lodgement deadline.

I'm actually upset that we are signing armstrong... its like signing jordan russell all over again but worse because he may actually get games

I thought this too... from an outsiders perspective.

Am I the only one who thinks that Armstrong actually has talent then and just needs to be given a run of games to give him confidence and show what he can do? Had a very solid season in the NEAFL, which I know isn't the greatest of comps, but then was probably Sydney's best player during the finals. In the finals (3 games) he averaged 29 touches, 6 marks, 5 tackles, 4 I50's and 5 R50's. Pretty impressive numbers really.
