I must be getting bias because I love Sam Reid as a player and want him in Collingwood colours, damn.

Richards, Grundy, O'Keefe, Goodes, LRT, Malceski, Mcveigh, Mcglynn are all your blokes either 28 or older. They'll be all gone in 5 years. That's a 3rd of your team and a lot of your experience gone. Just food for thought.
Well, a third of your team will be gone in 5 years too. A third of most teams will be gone in 5 years I would've thought haha.
But I'm happy with our players under 28. See full list (as of today, important ones bolded. Important = Already or has high potential to be in best 22 at some point):
Grundy
Mumford

Morton (lol)
Tippett
Jack

White
Walsh
Nick Smith
Kennedy
Bird

Everitt
Jetta
Armstrong
Towers
Rampe
Hannebury
Rohan

Biggs
Reid
Johnson

Naismith (will be our future ruck)
Lamb
Parker
Xav Richards
Mitchell
Lockyer
Lloyd
Brown
Cunners
Marsh
BrandonJack
Membrey
Robinson
Dick

I know that this is a controversial thing to list, but I'm bored  ;D

As an aside Stew agree with Naismith looked very good in the NEFL Final and looks ready for AFL unlike Longer who still needs to put a bit of bulk on his body if he is to play a full season.

Mummy would be a good fit for the Pies. Gives time for Grundy and Witts to play 2nd string for a couple of years and develop further

I think I disagree Rico, I love Mummy but think the best way for Grundy to develop is to do at as #1 ruck -- with Wiits developing under him, and Hudson (in 2014 at least) providing a bit of back up if needed.

The Pies Premiership window is very nearly almost closed, and should be thinking about another tilt in 3-4 years.

Wouldn't you want Grundy learning off a premiership ruckman for at least a few years? Talent only gets you so far, he will still need to learn his craft.
Especially considering ruckman usually take until 22-24 to hit the level required to play at the AFL level well.

I would love Mummy at Collingwood to be fair. Grundy will not win a lot of his taps (although he's good at ground level and his second efforts are amazing) meaning we won't have first use at the footy. Mummy in form is an absolute beast and would beat nearly every ruckman (bar Sandi, Nic Nat) and can kick goals up forward. You only have to watch his game against Hawthorn in Rd 23 to see his potential.
Mummy at 27 could stay for 5 years, Grundy playing second fiddle and Witts developing further in the reserves (still not ready to play at AFL level). Then Grundy and Witts are developed and at 22-23 we are set for a further 10 years.

Grundy learnt from Jolly and Hudson this year, and Hudson next year, and I'm sure Collingwood will have decent ruck coaches to help him out.

But they are good points, no doubt.

I often wonder though if Tom Bellchambers development has been hurt by Essendon's preference of David Hille

He will still take longer than 2-3 years though. Look at NicNat. The most talented and ready made 18year old ruckman in the comp and it took him 4 years to be able to compete at the AFL level well.

I love the idea of Sam Reid for Heath Shaw

Cant see Sydney agreeing to that. No way a fair trade.

Would need to sweeten that one.

Yeah, Shaw and a second round, then we'll think about it.
