If there are players who aren't happy with Buckley they better get used to it or leave as I can't see Eddie sacking Buckley any time soon ;)  :-*
Issue may be forced though Rusty similar to Voss at Lions.
Yeah I know, I was just empasising Eddie's love for Bucks  ;)

Buckley has just tried to clear our the brat pack and talks about the culture... as much as I would love Dusty, surely someone who did the jailhouse salute in the final round of the year would not be the type of person Buckley would want at the club

Forgive and/or correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Kraks do it once upon a time?  ???

Yes that did happen. And Krak has been delisted.

Yeah culture issues is a shower excuse to be honest. Getting rid of Shaw over the incident over the weekend is a little extreme. He isn't the worst coach ever but he makes some bad decisions. :P

I don't think any of us are in a position to judge whether or not the culture at the pies has an impact on game day or how they perform around the club. Also I do not see it as a little extreme to get rid of shaw over that incident, it was more like the final straw. If you watch many pies games, you would notice he is constantly losing his temper or being "passionate" as some people like to call it. If he can't improve on these areas (and we have given him enough time) then enough is enough.
I do agree that he isn't a terrible coach, but he has made some horrible decisions that have cost us a few games which is a few too many. Lucky this season is over and we can all give him another chance next year and see if he has learnt a thing or two. The only thing I can guarantee next year is that shaw will still have his on field spats which is why his spot at the club is under notice

Karnezis for Shaw (may have to add something though) would not be too bad for Brisbane.

Heath Shaw for Sam Reid, maybe a late pick from Collingwood to go with.

Means Heater can be up with his brother Rhyce, Sam with his brother Ben, Sydney have plenty of tall timber, and I think Shaw would go nicely with Malceski and Rhyce, as another running half back at Sydney. Sam Reid would complement Travis Cloke and it would mean they could start to dominate defences and really stretch them. Ben Reid could go back to CHB meaning Keefe can go to the third tall and Seedsman/Williams/Thomas can fill the spot of Heater permanently. We won the 2010 grand final with two key forwards (Cloke/Dawes) and three key defender strategy (Brown, Reid, Tarrant).

I see it as a win-win.

T Dog

actually rather he stays and allowed to run....get positional defenders in defence...  8)

Can't see the pies jumping at that trade to be honest mate. Karnezis is unproven, regardless of his potential. The mentioned sydney trade seems more likely, or else I can see him going to gws for an early pick? Maybe Heater +1player  for their top pick? Can't think of who else would be used as bait though.

Ringo

From what I am now hearing maybe Karnezis and Docherty for Shaw.

Don't know why Collingwood would want Karnezis when they have blokes like Eliot, Blair, Fasolo, Ben Ken, Sinclair and others who are all similar players. Karnezis wasn't getting much game time at Brisbane also. I rate Docherty but not for Shaw.

I'd like for Collingwood to make a deal with GWS for Shaw but as they're chasing Adams from there I don't think they'd get the top pick.

Maybe a second round pick + Adams for Heater?

Well, we'll also have McVeigh racking it up at HB as well, not sure we need him. Plus we won't give Reid. That simple. Maybe Jesse White and a second/third round pick? If at all?

I don't see Esky as a good backman to be perfectly honest. He's more of a wingman loose half back, not one to play one on one with, as Mcveigh took over the role as the loose defender. Shaw and Mcveigh off half back, Esky off a wing with Hanners on the other wing.

Why wouldn't you give up Reid? How many talks do you want? Mummy, Pyke, Tippett, Goodes, Reid, White, LRT? Only 3-4 of them can play in the team at any one time and that would be Mummy, Pyke, Tippett and Goodes. Sydney's window will shut soon as you'll lose a lot of good ageing players, and then you'll be back up there, so you need the best for now. My opinion.

Reasons why Nick Malceski is a great player
1. Rebound 50's 2013
Malcho = 190 (25 games)
Andrew Walker (next best) = 130 (23 games)
2. Those two goals he kicked in last year's GF... sex
3. Beards.

Sam Reid is talent. There is good reason we signed him on a 5 year contract. Goodes and LRT have 1-2 years left, if that. Sam Reid will slot in and peak well when those guys leave. Plus for next year Goodes might be able to push up the ground as a high half fwd. LRT will probably play in defence.

Re. age and closing window, most of our star players are under 28. Tippett, Kennedy, Jack, Hannebery, Parker, Mitchell fit that bill. Plus Shaw is over 28, so that's more reason not to take him, isn't it?

SydneyRox

stew speaks truth.

no way Reid leaving Sydney.

now Mumford......  ???

_wato

I must be getting bias because I love Sam Reid as a player and want him in Collingwood colours, damn.

Richards, Grundy, O'Keefe, Goodes, LRT, Malceski, Mcveigh, Mcglynn are all your blokes either 28 or older. They'll be all gone in 5 years. That's a 3rd of your team and a lot of your experience gone. Just food for thought.
