It was only Fremantle's second win at Simonds Stadium in the club's history, and the Dockers became just the second team to defeat Geelong at the venue since round 21, 2007.

Midfielders Michael Barlow (32 disposals and three goals) and Nathan Fyfe (25 disposals, seven clearances) and defender Lee Spurr (28 touches, 10 marks) were among the heroes for Freo, who have earned themselves a week's rest and a berth in a preliminary final at home at Patersons Stadium.

Crowley was among a number of other Dockers players who played a crucial role in the result. He started on Geelong midfielder Mathew Stokes but gave his team a big boost by limiting the impact of Johnson after the Cats maestro had gathered 12 possessions in the first quarter.

Fremantle has won 16 of its past 17 games at Patersons (lost by 4 points to Ess this year). Hard to miss a GF from here. Amazing effort.

Having lined up without key forward Tom Hawkins, who was a late withdrawal after suffering a recurrence
of his back soreness, their forward line struggled so badly that Geelong finished with less than 10 goals
for the first time since 2008.

"Nah that's not its not external motivation its all garbage to be frank"

"It's beyond belief that we can play 2 hours put up a great performance and you can put up with this garbage"

"I'm not sure what you're alluding to but you've got to look at what you stand for as a journalist to be frank Shane"

"The only thing that matters is action"

Noz

Good on Freo hopefully they can win the flag this year.

That was a massive effort from you guys to win at the cattery, and I mean hugh, well done. With a home prelim, I honestly think you are the ones to beat for the flag I reckon a Freo v Hawks G/F would be a classic match. You may ask why i'm not putting the Power in there is, I think being such a young inexperienced team, it's going to be hard to win another 3 tough-tough games. But you guys are a little more ruthless and hardened, and I reckon your time is close. Goodluck guys
