Number of news organisations reporting the player as Daniel Rich now. let the matter take its course. 2 sides to every story,

Agree Strikes Media has been beating up- There has been denials now that he was actually tipped from wheel chair and also that a kebab was thrown.

Regarding taking his cab I also have reservations on that as well as 9 players were out on the town so there is a strong possibility maxi cab may have been theirs.

Complainant probably seen the St Kilda dwarf incident and seeking his own 30 seconds of fame plus monetary compensation.

tipping someone out of the wheelchair could technically be an 'assault' ... but hope there's no 'trial by media' as usually happens - will wait to see what the outcome of police investigations (if any) say first ...

Just reading the updated story now and it seems to be a massive beat-up. Media going off half-cocked this morning made it seem like a much more serious incident than it now appears to be.

However I particularly like this quote from the alleged victim "I had the chance to brace, turned around and said, "What the f--- are you doing, you c---?"

I wonder if this is an exact transcipt from the police report   :o

Lions statement concerning their investigation.

"The Club can confirm a player, Daniel Rich, wheeled the gentleman some metres towards a taxi rank, however, at no stage was this action intended to cause the gentleman any distress or harm.

At this stage there is no evidence to support other claims made in the media today. "
