Memphistopheles

Given McDonough was Pick 42 originally I can see why you might block it. If he was a higher pick then maybe.

However, given the whole it doesn't unbalance the competition - no team gains a massive advantage rule then I don't see why this trade should have passed.

To be honest I can't really see any of the players involved in the trade ever becoming a full-blown star (read premo) no matter how Colli spruiks McDonuts. Daw possibly but I think he'll maybe have a good half a season, or at most two seasons, and then fade into obscurity.

If people want to take gambles or make bad trades then fair enough unless someone's literally giving stars away for peanuts.

But colli said he advertised him... And got zero interest...

for the record lez, this isnt BXVS, puoplo in axvs is the 74th ranked fwd, we only start 64 each week in axvs unless extra get started in the utility line.

if he becomes mid only, which i reckon he might in another year, well he would be down around the 130th rank mark.

26 years old, not in my best xv by a long way. (wright, matera, pettard, howe, lewis johnston, ben reid )

then i reckon troy menzel, billie smedts, nick heynes(gws), even karpark, will all go past him within a season.....

if you have a promising youngster you are willing to part with for the poop, let me know.

but you wont offer and nor will anyone else, becasue despite all the fuss - no one wants the poop here :)

gee if you have a 6 pack of xxxx gold i'll take that :)

but the trade is bogus :)

if i had to rule on it i would block it too, but trust me - it works for me.

as for daw, the guy doesn't seem to be likely to ever get footy smarts. i doubt he will be on an afl list in another year.

sure he is exciting and athletic, but his understanding of the game after 3 seasons at senior vfl level, concerns me....

Are people aware Daw has had knee surgery last year?  His preseason will be very interrupted. Currie also re-signed at the Roos. So this effectively means he is third in line if and when he gets back into it.

McDonough is a very good kid. Very Chapman like footballer. He will play a lot of footy over the next few years.

Puopolo is never going to be much more than a depth player. Everyone obviously loves him and the way he plays but he is only a few bad games away from not being certain best 22.

All parties are competent and have agreed to this trade. Yes there is a clear loser in the 3 teams involved at the moment. Footy is a funny game and anything can happen. As a Tiger supporter, I actually expect guys like McDonough and Arnot to pass guys like King and Titch very quickly. Time will tell though. I cant see any reason why it should be blocked personally.

Hopefully all parties can work something out as we are all aware how many messages it takes to get any deal done at times.

Justin Bieber

I reckon Jroo should give up more and there is really no point of JB even being in the trade hahaha

Haha JB was there just to give Colli a pick upgrade.
I told Colli I would be willing to add another pick, but it all depends on what BB decides.
As Colli said you have to look beyond their averages, as based on that it looks clearly unfair (a 94 average fwd + Daw for a 30 or so average fwd). I think McDnough is a few years away and since I want to challenge for a premiership in the next few years, it was best to bring in two depth players for one who are likely to play next year.
Anyway lets wait for BB's decision.

I think the rule is in place though to stop people taking advatage of others with trading.

Colli seems very aware of the trade and the fact he is currently losing but is willing to still go ahead with it. Only Colli truly knows where he wants his team to be in a few years time and that obviously is without Puopolo.

I think it sets a precedent you dont want to go down is all. I will go do some more gardening now haha.

Ricochet

I think it's uneven but not enough cause a massive stir.
Although Majak did post 193 against the Bullies this year in his only full game. But he was very quiet in others.

Jroo

Okay the trades been changed. I've added 44ND and Colli gave me a late rook pick which he wasn't going to use, as I need another pick so I have enough picks to ensure I have a full list.
Trade period 1
Tigers give Picks 43ND, 44ND, Rook 25
Tigers get Rook 56, Rook 58, Rook 68

Vipers give Pick Rook 20, Rook 68
Vipers get Picks 43ND, 44ND, Rook 17

Ales give Rook 17, Rook 56, Rook 58
Ales get Rook 20, Rook 25

Trade period 2
Tigers give Matt McDonough
Tigers get Majak Daw + Paul Puopolo

Vipers give Majak Daw + Paul Puopolo
Vipers get Matt McDonough

Colli to confirm, JB doesn't have to as his trade doesn't change.

Colliwobblers

confirm, the part of this that benefits me that others cant see yet, even more so benefits me now, as i have 5 picks i do not need to use, now 6.

so i will be using the two picks i recieved in the 40's plus one of mine in the 30's to potentially get a pick in the 20's that i will use.

so you have to consider it as me giving up poops and daw for mcdonuts and a pick i will use in the 20's.

so the big picture for me is a fair bit better than just this trade suggests.

still the bottom line is neither daw or poops would ever have played a game for me given who i have on my list ahead of them, so i really lose nothing, just gain.

anyway confirm.

Colliwobblers

when processing this trade and others BB i believe the rule is when you trade a player out the player you trade in regardless of what list of the team who had his he was on - he goes onto the same list of yours as the player you traded out.

so mcdonuts will go on my senior list in trade period 2 replacing daw or puoplo.

So Daw or Puopolo goes onto my rookie list?
If so, then I can upgrade McDonough to the senior list using 71ND as he is still on my list until next trade period and that means both Daw and Pup will be on my senior list, correct?

Colliwobblers

yes our trade does not happen until after the draft so if you use a late nat pick to upgrade him that will be correct the player you trade in for him will go on your senior list.

I will be sending out a very detailed PM to all coaches fully explaining all aspects of delisting and drafting today, as well as how your list will be managed/ topped up or reduced following trade period 2. (where some teams will be over limit and some under).

Thanks, as soon as BB approves this trade I'll post my delistings.

So if anyone needs to use a lot of picks in the draft let me know if you have any interest in trading a pick in the 20's or even in the 30's for these 3

N43 , N44, N52.
