Trade period 1
Tigers give Rook 24
Vipers get Rook 24

Trade period 2
Tigers give Mark Hutchings, Jack Newnes
Vipers give Shaun Grigg, Paul Seedsman
Colli to accept

Confirmed

BB has to approve this one.

APPROVED

Reasoning: Colli summed it up pretty well in his post above. JROO wins now on averages, but Seedsman will become a mid only, if not next year then the year after. Rookie pick balances it slightly. JROO wins short term, but Newnes should develop into a fine player to even it out.

kilbluff1985

personally think Seedsman will become DPP next year and take over Shaw's role and keep DPP

Pies have enough mids and there early draft picks this year i see him staying in defense

I tend to agree about Seedsman being DPP. If Hutchings can become best 22 at the Eagles and play a lot of games he might improve his average from his 9 games in 2013. Newnes is prob the one that will become mid only. The kid can play though. Got a couple of Saint mates that rate him very high.

Time will tell with this trade.

Justin Bieber

Who is the expert to say seedsman will be mid only for his career??

I was told Trent McKenzie will be a mid only his career and look how he played last season.

specky92

I think he's about a 60/40 of getting it,

l think people tend to forget that there are a number of factors to be considered when assessing trades done.

*The opinions and decisions made by individual coaches is important, afterall it's their team and they have the right to make them.

*The needs of each  team and the direction they're going is vitally important, and is a huge factor.

*Opinions are like @rseholes, everyone has one, and they're not all the same........we need to respect other coaches decisions, just because they're opinion may diifer from ours it doesnt make it wrong.

flower, now I'm wishing I didn't trade Hutch lol. Nobody wanted a bar of him when I had him. :P

The reason I only had lukewarm interest in him was because while he has gunned it in the WAFL that's where he was dropped to at the end of the season which indicates that his JS is not the best.

When everyone is fully fit will he be in the Eagles best 22? Speaking as an Eagles fan I'm not sure that he will.

Our midfielders next season will be: Scooter, Masten, Priddis, Wellingham, Shuey, Gaff, Rosa, Ellis, Dalziell, Hutchings, McGinnity, Morton. Plus probably Dom Sheed taken with Pick #11.

Hutchings is not ahead of Scooter, Masten, Priddis, Wellingham or Shuey for sure. Which leaves him battling with Rosa/Gaff/Dalziell/Ellis for an attacking mid spot and McGinnity for a tagger spot.

Ricochet

Plus he is a very similar player to Priddis. Great at getting first hands on the footy

Hutchy is definitely in our best 22 players. Will we play Hutchy and Priddis at the same time? I doubt it. IMO Hutchy's main competition is the great man Matt Priddis.

You just contradicted yourself? He's in the best 22 but we won't play him if Priddis plays. Well Priddis>Hutchings so that means he won't play.

He's not in my best 22 btw.

Confirm.

Like for like replacement. Terlich is younger, but Adcock is more proven so Pick 16 evens the deal nicely I feel.

Read what I said again. He's in out best 22 players but structurally we won't play Ploddus and Hutchings together.

APPROVED

Reasoning: Memph summed it up well. Adcock is proven scorer but old and Terlich is young and has lots of potential, pick evens it out well.

want to make it clear i was only debating Seedsmans DPP for next year or his career nothing to do with the trade
