I don't think I get the PSD... If Crameri chooses to go into it because we can't get a trade done, won't whoever has pick 1 in he PSD get him and not WB? Just curious
If he walks out on the Dons, he can be picked up the in the PSD. The 3 clubs with picks before them - GWS, Dees and Saints are don't need or want him. So, the Dogs can take him with their first pick in that draft.
yeah that's what I thought but surely one of those 3 clubs would grab a player like Crameri over the usual PSD recruits

Not really. If they don't need him, there's no point wasting a pick on him. GWS definitely won't take him, Melbourne don't need him and the Saints will probably give him a miss.

You also have to note that players that are linked to particular clubs are generally left alone in the PSD.

Examples of this are Tippett-Sydney, and Ball/Collingwood

that's because they put a high price tag on thier head i.e
crammers says i want 600k a year
if anyone but doggies take him they have to give him at least that for 1 year
if doggies take him signs the same contract just front loaded more

only problem with this trick is it can backfire
if teams have the money and do pick him up he has 2 choices
play or sit out a whole year his choice
rarely happens but as i read somewhere think it was bomber blitz
it never really happens
but someone wrote on there this happened to nick stevens he wanted to go to the pies entered the PSD and blues picked him up he had those 2 choices play or sit out

ofc i highly doubt either of those 3 would risk taking a guy who doesn't want to play for them etc
i see why the bombers are being hardnuts
because of the mcartney link his raiding the bombers listed and reserve listed players

The most recent examples I can think of, of a player not getting to the club that was going to take them, was Hannath to Freo instead of Melbourne who he was training with, and the late J-Mac who was training with the Tiges but was swooped on by Port.

Ziplock

those all would have been relatively inexpensive players though- clubs dont really want to work out the big bucks for blokes who dont want to be there.

We'll end up swapping pick 40 for 45 I think, which doesn't really matter much. We may as well just give in. 22 will be 26 after free agency compo picks. 26 and 44 for Crameri and 49 is still a pretty good deal for us.

We don't need to draft anyone special with our 3rd rounder. We've had a good haul in the last few years and we have FIVE father/sons available next year.

I knew you had one or two F/S picks next year, didn't realise it was 5.  :o

No offence but no club is going to waste 600k for any amount of years for a player who doesn't want to be there and is almost guaranteed to leave as soon as the first year ends

The players that don't get to their desired clubs are usually delisted players.

Plus GWS don't need him, Melbourne can't afford to have him and St. Kilda wouldn't bother either

Bachar Houli wanted to be traded to Richmond but the Bombers refused to accept the deal they were offered, so they let him walk for nothing. Surely they aren't stupid enough to let it happen again.

well they dealt monfires for a 3rd rounder last season

woofy

I think St Kilda will the biggest threat if Crameri walks to the PSD. GWS and Melb don't need forwards and St Kilda just love crashing our party.

Yeah but they clearly underrated Mons, then he stars back home!
