Was searching through the threads for some Supercoach finals stuff and found nothing so i have decided to start one here for anyone wanting any advice on their teams. I'll kick things off with my team which i just whipped up in 5mins:

Backs: Burgoyne, Ellis, Duigan
Mids: Pendlebury, Swan, Johnson, B.Kennedy
Rucs: Sandilands
Fwds: Motlop, Chapman, Rohan

The thing to note is that you have unlimited trades so you could essentially make a whole new team next week depending  on which teams players verse. I've picked Burgoyne, because he is relatively cheap but is also in great form and really likes to play Syd. Duigan is just very cheap and should expect a 50+ from him this week (Can't quite afford D. Grimes) I went with BenKen over other options such as Menzel and co because i believe Collingwood will dominate Port which will see their Mids go nuts, hence the 3 collingwood mids. Sandi is SO cheap and should relish with no competition in the ruck against Gee. Motlop is still really cheap and just a month ago came off a 125 against Port at Simonds. So like i said these players i mentioned, might not feature in my team next week.

So thoughts?

It is not easy keeping to 3.7m cap

Do not mind your team hawkers;

Backs: Birchill, Heath Grundy, Rivers
Mids: Pendlebury, Selwood, Martin, Stringer
Rucks: Sandilands
Fwds: Chapman, Bird, Ben Kennedy

Captains and VC choices are crucial in this comp with Captain scoring triple points and VC double points.

Very different team to that of what I've seen! Really like it! Have you done some research on players like Grundy, Rivers and Bird?  Are they in because they play well against their respective opponents? Like your whole team except for Selwood, last time Crowley kepted him to a 50, so the only change I would make is Jelwood to Johnson. Yeah your right! Could have a very average team but win if both you captains go 150+!

Ringo

Not a lot of detailed research but based on last few match averages and fitting into salary cap. Will probably change a few times before now and Friday as well. First team I put together as well.

Fair enough

Here is my team for the week fellas. Most players are based on opponents so team will change heaps next week.

Shaw, HarryO, Yarran.
Swan, Sidey, KSimpson, Seedsman
Grundy
Motlop Didak Rohan.

Thoughts? :)

I really like it! I think Shaw is a little expensive for his potential output as i think there are many cheaper options out there that will most likely score the same. Sidey, Simpson and Seedsman are very tempting option. I also like Didak but can't fit him in.

I've gone Ellis (very inconsistant) to Yarran (been in great form and far cheaper) who i think should score roughly the same this week. I've also gone Motlop to Walker with the extra cash and i'd expect a 90 from Motlop, but a 110+ from Walker against richmond.

Thanks mate!

I just thought Shaw would go nuts vs Port but will see. Like your team too. Very strong midfield and Johnson should go nuts vs Freo at SS. Who are you thinking for VC and C?

I am thinking Motlop or Sidey VC and C on Swanny.

For you, I would be looking at VC Johnson and C Pendles or Swanny. Or VC Swan and C Pendles.

I'm not sure who ill put the VC on! Pretty much locked Pendles as C but could go Swan, Johnson or Walker as my VC.... Decisions decisions

Swan, Beams, Cotchin, Sewell
Sandilands
Chapman, Didak, Rohan

For anyone thinking of Ellis, Arnfield went to him after quarter time in Rd.21 and completely shut him out of the game. Would be surprised if Arnfield didn't go to him from the first bounce this time around.

Partly the reason why i went him to Yarran, saves me a fair chunk of dosh and i was worried about this after i did some research.

What are peoples thoughts on this, i thinking going:

Johnson to Lewis
and
Rohan to Didak

Johnson has a solid but not outstanding record against Freo and i read an article suggesting he is one of the worst players in terms of a decrease in form when it comes to finals. Lewis on the other hand is averaging 105 over his last 3 and is coming off 2 110's including one against his opponent this week in Syd. I would expect them to both score around 100 this week but Lewis saves me a heap of cash. This extra money allows me to go Rohan who i'd wouldn't expect more than a 40-50 from, to Didak who i think will go 80+ against Port this week as i sense a smashing on the way and a domination in the middle for collingwood.

EDIT: Lewis' last 5 against Syd: 112, 98, 97, 102, 99

So really who would you rather?

Johnson and Rohan
or
Lewis and Didak

Thoughts?

TBH I think they are about the same. I think Johnson and Lewis will score roughly the same and I think Didak and Rohan will score about the same. That's if Didak even plays. Isn't Jamie Elliot due back this week?

Yeah, but after Didak's performances, you couldn't drop him! his experience will also be a very big factor and that is why i think they'll drop a younger player first. Rohan has come off a 39 and 48, Dids a 86, 50 (sub) and an 80
