I heard that they unsuccessfully tried to get stuart dew from Sydney before roos said yes.

that was the original plan wasnt it. but MM might be right that if the team improves they might be able to get a coach with some good experience.

Not that I think Melb is necessarily the team for him but would like to see Mark Harvey get another chance somewhere.

yeah stew wasnt going nowhere to be an assistant, but if the actual job came up maybe.

Fairly sure Dew was offered the role of apprentice under Roos to eventually take over the reins but knocked it back after Sydney upped the ante to keep him.

Hmm. After now reading it, it wasn't the strongest indication... I think Matty Burgan got too excited.

I still think Kirk will take over after that. Currently learning from one of, if not the best, defensive gamestyle coaches in the AFL. Roos and Ross apparently have a great friendship, while Kirk has captained under Roos.

Just seems like signs are pointing to him.
