What if your sub is a mjd and scores 80 but your d4 scores 50?

Ringo

That is the purpose of a designated sub.  No matter which position the lowest scorer on field is in and the subs score is higher the subs score will count. Positions do matter for sub to be effected.  This mimics what happens in AFL at times as well where we see Ruckmen subbed for running players ets.
So in your example subs score of 80 would replace your D4 score of 50 assuming 50 is the lowest score of all your on filed players.
Hope that explains it to all if not PM me.

So you only need 3 decent defenders then? Shouldn't the score be halfed if it replaces a def

Sweet. Time to work out my team list then and get trading. Zac Dawson might be getting a regular appearance for my team now ;D

Edit: Serious question, the sub can replace a utility, should that be the lowest scorer?

That is a risk you take if you are confident that mid sub will not be required for emergency replacement of mids or utilities.  Adds to tactics and strategy as well.

@ PowerBug Yes subs score can replace any player on the field who scores lower including utilities.

As I said earlier just trying to replicate use of sub in AFL games,

JBs-Hawks

Doesnt really add to tactics, just means you can neglect d4 or f4

Ringo

Will see how it goes this season JB and can discard for the following season if enough coaches vote to.  To be honest can see arguments both ways for this change,

JBs-Hawks

Well it could have been decided before our trading cos thats thr tactics it effects

I agree, but that's your choice to use up your trades early.

It'll be fun neglecting f4 (which I'm currently missing I think) and look to trading in a solid M7. :)

Its my fault for using trades early?  How the flower am I meant to predict that.d4 becomes useless

It's your choice for using trades early, I never said it was your fault. :)

As for predicting a possible rule change, which has happened, read:

Good afternoon coaches

Just a couple of updates for you all.

Trade Period 2 is now open till midnight on 9th February. Remember though List movements are limited to 10 except 11 for Steins, Leeches, Giants and Magic and 12 for Swaggers and Lobsters. Additional trades for those teams with 11 and 12 movements do not count as list movements for coaches being traded with as they are movements allowed as a result of ladder positions.

Can you also please check team lists in the thread and advise me of any compensation picks you may require for delisted players by COB tonight. Also advise anny errors (Lists are up to date to include the 2 approved trades for period 2)  Team list thread is here:

Over the off season I will be putting out to vote some possible rule changes for next season.  Some have already been intimated in the British review thread.  Please feel free to add comments in the thread and any suggestions for improvement.

http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,85566.0.html

Just a reminder that when votes are sent out as per rules all coaches are required to vote and if not your position as coach may be reviewed.

Thank You all for your participation this year and trust you will enjoy next season

That is from ringo from 6th December. Make of that what you wish, but you were notified of a possible rule change, therefore you can only blame yourself if you are unhappy.

If that was sarcasm, which I believe it was, then I just showed you that everyone was given a foresight that there might be potential rule changes.

I don't see how you can say you were given no notice, unless you don't read your PM's, in which case it was your fault.
