You still have to field xv players and an emergency for each line one of who is a designated sub. All ideas raised here have an element of risk but if you are prepared to the risk then no worries,  As I said will be monitoring it and may refine it for next season if I feel it has been abused.

It will be abused, it cant not be abused.

Justin Bieber

My F4 will be ordinary and will have like Dal Santo on the bench. So all good.

Vinny

My D4 is shower but now I can get Shiel's or Wellingham's score. :)

JBs-Hawks

Yep absolutely flowering ridiculous!

Nails

It's not really like you can "neglect them"

This helps teams with good D4/F4 half the time...

Lots of rounds you end up with injury/sub effected players that aren't your D4/F4.

Therefore teams that have a sub player score 40 and their neglected F4 score 30 will be hurting as they only get 40 in these weeks

Whereas if you have a good F4/D4 and you have a sub/injury player score 40 but your solid F4/D4 scores 75 you gain 35 points with this rule...

Ringo

Just bear in mind also we do not have rolling lock outs with all teams locked at bounce of first match of the round, except where rounds are over two weeks,  and I am seriously considering this as well, so you are taking risks as we had a large number of late outs as well which also effects your sub. A number of these were midfielders so your sub would have been the late replacement so the risk is yours,

And as Nails rightly points out injury/sub effected players are always a possibility.

JBs-Hawks

And what players in Lez's team are ever going to be sub affected?

Its stupid, if a mid subs in for a defender he should be playing at half points since he is playing out of position. Just like an emergency would.

If thats not the case.

Who wants Kreuzer? I want two decent mids for him!

Ringo

For the record Bradford Badgers had 3 late outs last year.  Also bear in mind that if one of your utilities is a late out the first available emergency also replaces them as per rules.

As I have said before lets see how it pans out during the season and personally I believe if you try to skimp on D4 and M4 there is a strong possibility you may get caught in a couple of games possibly costing you a finals appearance.

JBs-Hawks

And 3 late outs is heaps.......

PowerBug

What do you mean by the "first available emergency" when talknig about utility replacements?

in order of how you name your emergencies which ever is first is your utility emergency

Torpedo10

But your 1st emergency isn't the SUB? Or is he? I got from this rule that you name 4 EMGs and 1 you name as the sub. That means your 1st out of the 3 becomes your Utility replacement. I think that if you have a late out, your Sub cannot be used. Only your emergency can come in. Just something to try and favor both sides and favor teams with depth.

Torpedo10

Also, does the SUB replace whatever line has the lowest single score? So if Player Z is the SUB (A Ruckman) and he scores 80, Player Y is a Defender and he scores 10 & Player A is a midfielder and he scores 5. Does that mean Player Z replaces Player A and Player Y's score stays?

Justin Bieber

This rule only advantages the top teams. Which is stupid.
