Update per favore?

Waiting on just the one - pothead.

Amazingly, both trades still in a bit of limbo... but I'll likely make the final call today or tomorrow

:o :-\ :'( Cheers Os!

Final call today would be good, been an agonising wait to say the least.  :-X

This is the first trade all period that I've made that I actually have been worried about.   :P

Right, excluding pothead, each of these trades have had 5 votes against. Meaning depending on which way pothead votes, either they get rejected by the people (but I can overturn), or they get passed by the people (but I can reject). Either way I get the final say.... So here goes...

Trade 41:

PNL trade: Justin Westhoff, Luke Ball and Pick 6
New York trade: Tom Liberatore, Trent McKenzie and Pick 25

Trade 42:

New York trade: Dion Prestia, Jonathan Giles, Brodie Smith and Pick 65
Cairo trade: David Armitage, Mathew Stokes, Josh Gibson, Jed Anderson and Pick 55

Since both involve New York, will decide on both simultaneously....

New York seem intent on trading away there midfielders - with Liberatore, Prestia, Gaff and Greene all being put up for trade. This will leave them (based on who they are trading for and 2013 positions) a core midfield of Luke Ball, Adam Treloar, Allen Christensen, Koby Stevens, Harley Bennell, David Armitage, Jed Anderson (and I'll through in Matthew Stokes based on his midfield time this year).

Trading away one of there best defenders Trent McKenzie (assuming stays a defender) for a forward Justin Westhoff I could argue as rougly even. Leaving Tom Liberatore  = Luke Ball plus moving to Pick 6 in the draft.... Luke Ball is at the end of his career, Liberatore about to have a break-out... tough call, but Pick 6 could also be a star and coaches can take the risks they want.

For PNL, they've added a superstar midfielder and a lost a key forward. There midfield would be fine either way, but it is there forward line I'm worried about. Leaving them with a coreforward group of Rioli, TT Lynch, Liam Jones, Matt Pavlich, Chris Dawes and Jonathan Patton. Not a strong list, but with Liberatore added to a midfield consisting of young guns Chad Wingard, Kade Simpson, Matt Priddis, Nathan Jones and Dylan Shiel.... Given Wingard likely gets forward status next year... I think it's fine.

Cairo trade some reliable depth players for a star....

So long story short, not a huge fan of the trades, but will let them both pass.

Given PNL were in search for a Potential young captain choice, knew we had to give a bit to get him! Leaves our actual forward line relying on a lot of potential for the youngsters (forgot to mention Casboult and Grant in there). Have faith in a few of them to step up, can certainly see the Doggies Grant/Jones combo lifting now that Crameri has gone there. Wingard likely to get Forward status helps. Westy = McKenzie is what we saw as well, Westy is a top 10 forward and McKenzie a top 20 back, but scoring backs are harder to come by than forwards :-X. Westy coming off a career best season so thought we'd sell high ;). We have a fairly young list now besides Pav/McPharlin/Simpson so was our plan to start getting in some younger guys and out with a few oldies.

Although not going the Armadillos path and trading for oldies, no way we're able to compete for the title at the moment :P.

Just in regard to this. I just updated our list. Our lines are pretty even in terms of numbers for each line (10 backs, 11 mids, 4 rucks and 11 forwards). The depth isn't bad and I'm confident we can grab a few decent players from the draft. I did make sure of this before I went ahead with the deal. I knew that it could have been detrimental, thankfully it was not.  8)

My Chumps

Just a quick one, Libba averaged 119 in his last 10 games this season... and he's 21.

Westhoff averaged 98 this year (largely due to the 140 average he had after the first 4 games - more than a quarter of his total points for the season) and is 27.

McKenzie averaged 88 and is 21.

and well, HP said it for me...

Cairo trade was fairer but have to admit, the NY & PNL trade is pretty interesting.
