Quinny posted on someone else's thread last night.

Apparently Heppell said on Bomber TV show "TheHangar" he will be lucky to be back before the finals.

Id be punting him if I was you.

Win or lose Essendon will be in the finals so I would give him another week off even if he could play and get ready for week 1 of finals

This was put up on the live talk tonight on AFL website @ 18:28

Mark Macgugan:" Hi Guest. Unconfirmed reports coming through that a deal has almost been done between Essendon and the AFL, which would see the Bombers miss the finals this year".

As I said, that is unconfirmed.

So maybe they won't be in the finals

As an Essendon supporter of more than 30 years I hate to say this but it appears beyond doubt that Hird let ambition get the better of him.  Best he falls on his sword.  Bring on Paul Roos, Rocket Eade, anybody, and the sooner the better.

yep no finals for the bombers, not the end of the world for the best imo, let the world think they paid the price and get over it all and get on with it all.

on topic, given no finals you would not expect injured players to be brought back this season.

Any news on this young chap?
Will be a pod in my gf if named, fingers crossed.

If essondon lose their points as it has been predicted it will then Heppell will not be back for sure. No point risking an injured with nothing to gain ...
Having said that if essondon don't lose their points then at best it would only probably be 30% considering they'll be in finals and may as well rest him for them.

I was more interested in the video of Hird STILL saying he didn't know what was going on...? What the?
