Upgrade to J. Selwood...or Hanley Insurance? (Pic incl.)

Hey guys,

Like the rest of you, I've had the usual backline dramas this week. Henderson and Heppell have stuffed me around, and Hanley is looming in the distance. I've traded Bob Murphy in for Henderson already this week.

This brings me to the second trade. I've wanted to have Joel Selwood in for the last few weeks, as I am sick and tired of being on the receiving end of my opponent benefiting from his 120+ point scores whilst I miss out. My aim has been to bring him in this week. BUT - if I bring him in, I am forgoing the chance to bring in some defender bench cover (e.g., bringing in a Duffield for Heppell).

My current trade has me bringing Joel Selwood in for Stanton (and swinging Watson to the bench), whilst leaving my defender bench bare. My question to you guys is, should I reverse my Stanton -> J Selwood trade, and bring in some bench cover for Hanley? What would be worth more for me - the increase in scoring potential from Watson to J Selwood, or the security of cover for Hanley?

My intention at this stage for next week (if I get through) is to use an up/down double trade to upgrade Roughie.

Selwood won't score much more then Watson, maybe 30 max?
Hanley probably won't be a late out, but it wouldn't hurt to have some cover....

Yeah, I'd play it safe and get some defensive cover. There's a slight chance Hanley could pull up sore, and I reckon it's a waste having Jobe on the bench...

Thanks for the input guys,

I've reversed the Selwood/Stanton trade, and will do these trades instead:
- Rick Henderson -> Bob Murphy
- Heppell -> Birchall (on bench)

Which (injury pending) will allow me to be able to afford these next week:
- Stanton -> J Selwood (allows me to bench Tags who'll get the Crowley tag)
- Roughead -> Minson/Kreuzer

Arrgh!
Now with Beams out, I'm second (third?) guessing myself. Stanton comes onto the field, so now I'm comparing Hanley Insurance against the difference in points between J Selwood and Stanton instead of J Selwood and Watson.

I would get bench cover for Hanley even with Beams out now. You will be kicking yourself if Hanley is a late withdrawel.
