Hawthorn has now ramped up its pursuit of homesick Brisbane Lions' young ruckman Billy Longer, after Mumford headed to GWS rather than the premiers.
And Bailey maybe forced into early retirement due to his bad knees

Mr.Craig

I really hope our recruiters are going to be bold.

Mr.Craig

Andrew Boseley and Amos Frank delisted.

stew42

Osbourne and Bailey have retired today. Now you guys reeeeally need Longer, or some ruck.

Nige

I expect the Hawks to make a massive play for Billy Longer now.

That said, they do have Grimley who looks good.

But yeah, I think we'll see Longer in the gold and brown in 2014.

stew42

Will Longer and/or Grimley be enough? That's a very young ruck...

With Bailey gone, I expect Hale and Roughy to still ruck a bit from time to time.

I'm interested to hear how Hawks fans think their ruck scenario will play out in 2014.

JBs-Hawks

Will just be Hale mixxing with a youngster Grimley/Longer/Ceglar/Lowden

Or I have heard a rumour of something like Savage for Hampson

CrowsFan

Give Lowden a chance :)

From his 20 games he averaged 13.25 disposals, 4.15 marks, 22.95 hit outs and 0.85 goals a game in the VFL.

Grimley, who I assume played more forward than ruck in his 17 games averaged 11.29 disposals, 4.82 marks, just 4.59 hit outs and 1.65 goals a game.

Ringo

See the Hawks are now also putting Brad Sewell on the table to free up space.

tor01doc

Imagine the irony of Chappie kicking a goal after the siren to beat Geelong.

He then runs over to Hawkins and stares him down.

Then high fives Bartel just for old times' sake!

That would be funny.

Well, I guess we have a surplus of inside mids.

Oh wait...

Scrads

If it is true that Sewell is on the table, it must be an indication that the club wants to get more games into Anderson, Langford and Hallahan. Which isn't a bad thing IMO especially if we can get something for Sewell.

Ricochet

If Sewell goes then maybe Savage will stay with another spot in the 22 opening up

Mailman the 2nd

Considering what Hampson, Betts and Crameri are going for, you could probably trade Sewell for pick 1  ::)
