Well you won`t be getting Woosha he has told them no thank you
Easy to say in retrospect but given Woosha cited the fact he had nothing left to give as a reason for standing down from the Eagles it would've been a surprise if he'd taken another coaching job straightaway.

Lions were only sounding out Woosha to discuss availability and that has now been confirmed as no. So we continue the search

Confirmation that the EGM is going to be requested, which I think everybody knew was going to happen anyway.

Was always going to be the case Rusty with some 1200 members requesting the forms from Lions Roar so only 40% of those needed to be returned for EGM to be called.  Will not hide the fact I was one requesting basically on the basis we could not allow issue to be unresolved till December with the propect of losing young players and unable to attract others. However worst case scenario is according to constitution is latest meeting can be called is 25th October 21 days to answer EGM request with a further 21 days to hold meeting.  One would hope existing Board will act in best interests of Club and hold meeting prior to trade period so at least Board issues are resolved if not coach as well.

On the coaching matter Neal Craig ,Justin Leppitsch, Adam Simpson, Leigh Tudor and Alan Richardson have been interviewed for the coaching position. The Neal Craig with succession to Justin Leppitsch following Melbourne model is looming as the possible scenario.

Also remember none of our Assistant coaches are signed as well.

We want Lepp to stay at the Tiges!  :(

Ringo

Sorry Nigey Lepp is a Lion through and through and would be a great choices as assistant coach for another 2 years under Neil Craig.  He may even be a great coach in his own right given he has been an assistant coach now for 5 years.  Think he really showed his coaching prowess in stiffening Tigers defence this year.

An update on the coaching saga.  Though not specified in the article the favoured option looks like being Neil Craig with a handover to Justin Leppitsch from reports I am hearing. This is similar to Roos at Melbourne. and i do not mind it at all. As I said above Leppitsch is showing good credentials especially as backs coach at Togers reducing their points leakage this year.

Cut and paste fouled again and this did not come out
"Finally, I want to make it known that all candidates have expressed a desire to speak to some of our younger players, who have made their homesickness known, before final list decisions are made."

So hope decision is made quickly so we can retain Longer, Mayes and Yeo accepting that Polec and karnezis are already gone.

Nige

Neil Craig would be a good fit I think, especially with Leppa to succeed him.

looks like we are going straight to Leppa which I do not mind as he has had 7 years in the assistant coach role.

Why do you think members are requesting an EGM and AFL have stepped in to mediate??

My own opinion of Johnson he is extremely arrogant,  Approached him a couple of years back on a matter he was totally dismissive and arrogant about it.
