Just for those were looking at getting him in at his cheap price

MARC Murphy has launched a spirited defence of his season, vowing to break the tagging shackles despite battling an ongoing knee problem.

Murphy this week revealed his right knee has required constant management this year, restricting him to one training session a week.

Explains his terrible season. Maybe a bargain for next year?

Hopefully he doesn't break the tags too much in the final 4 games so he is at a juicy price next season  ;)

Thats what I'm thinking

Frozensage

so... now that blues can't make the finals and are a team on the slide... he comes out with some excuses... truth is he never could cop a tag and the whole captaincy is ruining his career.

Bit harsh to judge based on one season

The knee thing came out over a month ago. He has been carrying it for the majority of the season but this is the first time he has brought it up in the public. I think it is one of the reasons he has been played in the forward line for the majority of games. He started in the forward pocket with Crowley on him against Freo. That match up was always going to favour Crowley as Murph is not 1. an excellent overhead mark and 2. a forward. He is a mid that gets his goals by pushing forward hard and burning off his opponent.

Murphy is almost a lock for me in 2014. Will be super cheap and we know what he is capable of.

Hope he can get through a solid preseason with Mick and fire from Rd 1. :)

Nearly jumped on him when he was bargain basement a couple of weeks ago.. Glad I didn't .. Reckon they will pull the pin on him if they miss the finals?

sammy123

like him. Good player. Cant handle a tag though. But him and JPK look to brcome bargains next year

batt

Holy moly.  He'll be in every single team come round 1 next year.

tor01doc

Is he going to learn to shake a hard tag with just one more preseason?

Judd will be a year less damaging. The others including Mcean, Cachia, Robbo, Carrazzo, Heartless, Armfield, Lucas, Simpson, Tuohy, Buckley etc are not going to attract top taggers.

He will be cheap but maybe for a reason?

Well as long as he doesn't play Freo or other teams with a gun tagger in the first few rounds next season we can make some money off him and then upgrade him  ;)

No from me, Might be cheap next season, still a no for now, Gibbsey is the better punt!

Just don't know what to make of Marc yet, someday he will be great but who will risk that being early 2014?

tor01doc

Good player but with up and comers like Prestia, O'Meara, Wingard and a few others, maybe not as fantasy relevant going forwards?

He needs support.
