Blues Blues Blues

Hi guys,

After losing to 2nd bottom last week I dropped to 4th and are playing top team this week. I have looked at key match ups and he has a very good team.

My team:
Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Hanley, Hartlett, Duffield, Ellis (Clisby, Staker)
Mid: GAJ, Swan, Pendles, Cotchin, Mundy, JPK, Priddis, TMitch (Crouch, Kmart)
Ruc: Cox, Goldy (Nicholls, Rowe)
Fwd: Walker, Stevie J, Bartel, Dusty, Rocky, Buddy (Lee, Oxley)

Key Match ups (Me v Him)
Hanley v Shaw
Hartlett v Hibberd
Duffield v Enright
Ellis v McKenzie
Swan v Jack
Cotchin v Jelwood
JPK v Fyfe
Mundy v Griffen
Priddis v Roughy
Buddy v JJK

As you can see I think he has me covered, especially in defence.

With 4 trades and $325,600 I was thinking:
1. TMitch > Griffen
2. ???

How should I best use 2nd trade?  :-\

Tough spot to be in as like you say he has you covered in a few of those matchups.

You haven't listed T Mitch in those matchups so I assume that means you will both be starting him at the moment. If you make the T Mitch to Griffen trade does that therefore make the POD matchup Mundy (you) v T Mitch (him)?

I think you need to trade Duffield or Ellis to maybe a Dixon to try and win one of those defensive PODs.

Yeah, spot on. If I trade Tmitch to Griff it changes match up to Mundy v Mitch. I was looking at Dixon, can't decide who to trade. Duffield has been sh1t but has a good run home, whereas Ellis pumped out a ton on weekend.

I haven't got Duffield or Ellis so I haven't really followed what their roles have been recently. Ellis has had a higher ceiling though and pumped out more tons than Duffield hasn't he?

Sabretooth Tigers

 :)
The Griff trade  +
C Dixon, but only if Nicholls is ruled out for more weeks (multiple)
S Thompson.
Either of these come in for The Duffer as he is obvioysly your standout weakness.
Best of luck this week BBB, I'm very, very seriously considering Pav in for Zorko.
But will see how I'm going on Sat night as my main game should be very close.
Reckon the Murph (Carlton) will fire up this week, so unbenching him. Best of luck.   ;)

isn't mundy a chance to be out this week with ankle?

Hadn't heard that, but wouldn't surprise me

T Mitch > Griffen

Duffman > Shaw.

Probably gives you the rest chance this week. Could also look at JPK > Jack/Danger if you have the balls, gutsy but could pay off with JPKs recent form which has been killing me lately too (going to play Ball and bench jpk this week myself i think!)

This may sound a little harsh but imo he has you well covered so I would not trade. Would use 2 trades to strengthen team and win next week and then use last 2 match or outplay opponents. Not much point in using 2 trades in the hope to win and then lose leaving only 2 trades for the rest.

Yeah, he has me well covered. Already trying to set up for next week.

If all else stays as predicted (ie no selection surprises) I would go against what Lord Ringo says this time.

Granted, this week's opponent MIGHT have you covered, but I would get your team as strong as possible ASAP.

You could win this week and then can save trades the following week when resting.

If you lose after strengthening your team this week (my suggestions to follow  :P), then it's sudden death and there is zero reason to have trades left after you lose that one.

If you want the strongest team for next week, then 4 trades from now will set you up better than only 2.

Maybe grab Griffen and Dixon for Mitchell and Ellis? At least 60 extra points IMO.

God luck.

Those 2 trades are what I'm currently thinking. Do you think it's worth taking a punt on Scotland? Or go for a more proven performer in Dixon?

Ringo

I will bow to both of you -
I would also take Dixon over Scotland at this point in time.  As Doc has highlighted even if Nicholls returns this week which is highly likely Dixon will spend a lot of time forward and he is a goal kicker so will score well.

Doc and Ringo, another cheer each for you both. Once again your logic helps me make my decisions.

Now lets see how long I can leave my team without reverse trade button! Hopefully Priddis is back and no other injuries that will force me to reevaluate.
