Current team:

DEF: Goddard, Heppell, Shaw, Gibbs, Duffield, Staker (Clisby/Colquhoun)
MID: Abblett, Swan, Griffen, JPK, Cotchin, Fyfe, Priddus, T Mitchell (Viney/Paparone)
RUCK: Goldstein, Minson (Nicholls/McBean)
FWD: Cox, Rockliff, Roughead, Cloke, Franklin, Stevie J (Macaffer/Oxley)

4 trades / $238000

Will probably burn a trade getting rid of Nicholls for the cheapest ruck, so really 3 trades and $543700.

Have had Buddy in all year, got Roughy after the Port game and has shown little since. Playing Roos and Sydney in the last 2 games of the SC finals. 2 tough games, and I can't see both of them scoring 100+ at the same time in either game.

So thinking of trading out one of them for Boomer or Watson or even Danger (via moving Paparone back to the FWD line). Both have difficult runs home, but both have had time off during the season and unlikely to be rested, unlike other more fancied choices (Jelwood/Pendles/Martin/Walker).

Of the leagues I made finals, I am in the top 4, except for 1 public league, which if I get knocked out in the first round it doesn't mean anything. Also this all hinges on what happens during the week (Priddus!!)

So I will probably trade Roughy, more likely to get rested before the finals, and worth a bit more cash as well.

So what do you guys think, too much of a luxury trade at this end of the season? May hold of the trade for 1 more week, but I think 1 of them has to go.

With $238k in the bank I'd be more inclined to turn staker into Hanley & Titchell into Watson/Barlow.
Rough & bud are not your problems. They are capable of scoring well, don't look at last game.

Partially agreed. As much as I hate to say it I think titch is better than Buddy SC wise. Titch scored poorly after copping a tag (didn't see it but that was mentioned on this board), prior to that he's been great. Buddy not so much.

Staker to Hanley for sure.

The op has obviously brought in oxley for the DPP with staker. I did the same with Richards, but in my position staker won't make his way onto the ground, have prems in all lines. Staker is basically an emergency for prelim & gf carnage.

Totally agree they are not the major issue, I was thinking of keeping Staker, as he can be bench cover for Def and Fwd, as well as allow Cox to move into ruck if needed, indirectly covering the ruck bench as well.

Titch will go, leaning towards Watson, but with his high BE this week, I don't mind keeping that trade for the next round or the one after if possible. And will probably upgrade Clisby for McKenzie/Dixon/Pearce, or even keep Clisby and trade Staker for Henderson to keep the D/F link......but there are plenty of polls on that already.

I just can't see Roughy and Buddy scoring 200 between them in any games. Only had Roughy for 3 weeks and hasn't looked close to cracking the ton, and you just don't know which Buddy is going to turn up on the day.

Just really in 2 minds about this, although regardless of what I do, I am sure if I keep them they will both nosedive, and if I trade one of them out they will probably score 120+ for the rest of the season HAHAHAHA

MalteserMan

Don't waste trades on Buddy and Roughy, I would be looking at upgrading T mitchell and Staker and possibly Priddis (lets face it, he has been ordinary, 1 pretty good and the rest are a bit meh) but mainly the first two.

You would want to hang onto a trade or two incase of injury or suspension.

Hawks play the saints indoor on fri night . . . Would assume buddy and roughy should go well . . So would look at staker or Mitchell this week . .

Basically an emergency? He's on the field, op discussed 1 trade for Nicholls out, then 2 more for roughy and buddy out, leaving 1 trade and nothing done to the defence, with Staker still on field... there's nothing emergency about that.

Roughy is the one I don't agree with getting rid of, given the rest of the players on field. If Staker and his DPP with Oxley isn't an option to go, then spend your cash and upgrade Clisby instead... But Heppel, Gibbs, Duffy and Staker are all players capable of a bad game, and all averaging less than Roughy. Why on earth would he go first?

I don't plan on getting rid of both, just one of them, not going to burn 2 trades on removing both. As I said earlier, I cannot see both of them scoring 200 between them in the 1 game, so plan on trading one, so still after the Nicholls trade, will leave me 2 trades and minimum 400k for upgrading a defender and a mid or forward. Still undecided if it is wise, and seems like it may not be, but after the Saints game, the Hawks have Pies, Roos and Swans. If I was pretty sure they could score 200 between them, then it would not be a consideration, but with that run home, and the chance that the Hawks may rest Roughy for the finals (my personal gut feeling) I am just throwing it out here to see what others think.

Emergency in my side. Yes the op has him on the ground. Wasted trade bringing in oxley.

Frozensage

2 weeks ago everyone was getting on roughy... and now you want to trade him out?

buddy sure yeah you can get rid of him but he isn't gonna get you much cash either.

I got Oxley in Rd 14 to free up cash and for the DPP with Staker.

If I get rid of Staker, I will have Macaffer as my Emg for the FWD line and Ruck line (via moving Cox into the Ruck).

After coming home from work and nutting it out, I think I will keep both for now, at least 1 week. Will probably trade Staker for Hendersen and keep the D/F DPP, trade Nicholls to free some cash, upgrade Mitchell to any premium, and I should still have about $250k for my last trade hopefully in the last round.

Just a thought but can you fit Staker to Hanly and Cloke to Walker ? I would love the luxury of making those two trades, best of luck.

Nicholls for cash is good.
Would upgrade Clisby in a week or 2, depending on whether you get the 2nd week off in finals or not. Will cost you at most 200k to upgrade, as Clisby should make a fair bit of cash next week.
So 2 trades, ~350k.
Viney to a mid premo (preferably Pendles, should bottom out very soon) will cost you around 250k.

This leaves you with 1 trade, and about 100k left in the bank. Would use it to upgrade one of Duffield/Priddis/Titch/other, probably around the time of prelims.

If you are set on trading one, it has to be Buddy. I got Roughy in the same week you did, and he's been disappointing, but at least with him you will have cover if one of your rucks go down.
