Jeremy Laidler is a Swan.

He should get games, right?

Out of all the possible clubs...  >:(

Why?

Nothing wrong with him going to Sydney. I'm very confident he'll get games.

Only reason I asked above is because I want to see where Swans fans think he'll fit and what role they think he'll play.

He was a delisted free agent anyway, he could go wherever he wanted... why not be a part of a club that's on top if they make you an offer?
NEAFL games for sure.

He's 24... Grundy, Ted, Rhyce Shaw and Malceski aren't getting younger? I would have thought that he would slot it nicely.

So he replaces the likes of Brown, Everitt and Armstrong so maybe a deep player atm

Backline will be Richards, Grundy, Rampe, Shaw, Smith and AJ with Macca and Eski dropping back if required. Laidler comes in and may get some game time with the current injuries and

Im wondering why Carlton and Sydney didnt do a direct swap Everitt for Laidler

Believe it or not, but no one is getting any younger

Hmm yeah...

I guess that they got him for free this way.

It really is an interesting pick....  I noticed he played the majority of his VFL this year in the fwds??

Mick wanted to try him as a forward, but he's more comfortable playing as a defender. I'm assuming that's why he played forward in the VFL - in hope that he'd flourish as a forward and get games in Carlton's front half. I don't think his heart was in it though and wanted to leave to pursue a career as a defender at a different club.

I really hope the Swans gives him games and that he cements a spot, he's a really good player... deserves to get the most out of his third run.

The Teddy Richards replacement?

Also surprised you guys didn't upgrade Naismith, must be confident in the big Canadian!  8) do you think you'll draft one?

Barring injury, I can't see him getting games next year. If Armstrong and Everitt were struggling this year, he probably will too

He left because he wasn't getting games. I don't think he would have agreed to join unless he was told or promised that he would be played.

Yeah, it's purely depth to cover up the losses of Everitt and Armstrong.

Might play 3-4 games.

specky92

They played 24 games between them but I suppose Alex Johnson would be ahead of him?

Might play 13-14 games in the NEAFL.
