Yeah I think he wouldn't want to come to Sydney where he might not play to much in the first two years

Oppurtunity is a funny thing. Ask Johnson and Rampe.

Rumour that the Swans have bid $7m over 5 years for Buddy?

Nige

Someone has just called in to Trade Radio asking where Tim Membrey stands if Buddy does just so happen to land at the Swans. Suffice to say that he may as well begin looking for another club if Buddy is in red and white in 2014.

Not just him. Sam Reid will have to be on traded as well to make salary cap room...

in reference to the salary cap room, you have to say that the swans would know how much noise buddy coming to the swans would make. No way they would/could afford to do anything dodgy as everyone who could have a look into it would be going over with a fine tooth comb

Still dont see him getting to the Swans

As I understand Sydneys contracts They are all written for $x value plus Cost of Living allowance. All contracts are then passed by the AFL to fit within Salary Cap plus Cost of Living allowance. (Why Eddie did not push for this to be removed when Brisbane's was as a result of his rantings I do not know).
So basically every Sydney player will have a cost of living allowance  in their contract.

So I suspect the offer to Buddy will end up being $1.4m plus cost of living allowance.

This is how Richard Colless and anyone else out of Sydney has explained it as well. The Swans need to do as much as they can to make the cost of living transparant, so people like Eddie cant have the mud they like to throw around stick.

No one ever disputes the salary cap matters when its passed by the AFL until they actually get scared that their team might start losing

Also please no Buddy. Getting Tippett already threw Morton and White out the door (not that unhappy) and left Membrey with no games.

Getting Buddy is going to destroy several potential future clubmen.

I'd be happy to see Heath Shaw in, so that we don't need to play people like Everitt, but not another forward....

Really?? You would prefer to keep Membrey and White instead of Tippett and Franklin?? WTF?

IMO setting the club up for the next 5 years title shots is more important. Our midfield will be one of the best in the comp each season over the next 4-5years, why not exploit that with two of the best fwds to take advantage of it?

Buddy and Tippz in the same forward line will never work.
