All this talk of Goldy being rested?

Ok, I know no-one can predict the future, and Goldy has been under a heavy workload, but realistically when would the Roos rest him? Upcoming opponents are Geelong, Adelaide, Essendon, Hawthorn and Collingwood. They don't have a Melbourne/GWS game in there which you would expect would be a prime candidate  for a rest game...

I want to bring in either Minson or Goldy and was leaning towards Minson for security but then looked at the NM draw, just can't see when they would do it. Bombers maybe?

Scotty can you just sign up to FF and then tell us if/when you'll rest Goldy? Thanks.

While North have even the slightest chance of making finals I think he will play when that chance is gone he may get a rest then

Don't think he will get rested out of the team.. Think Daw or Currie will come in at some stage and perhaps share ruck duties with Goldy

I reckon this is what they would do. The only reason there's all this Goldstein resting talk is because he said he was feeling pretty tired carrying the ruck load all year. No niggling injuries or real reason for him to be rested, but someone might come in and share some of the ruck work. Goldstein and Minson would have the same chance of getting rested, but doubt either of them will be

So if they bring either Daw or Currie in would that affect Goldys scoring? I would then choose Minson if that was the case.

I think it would be Daw that would come in, and Goldy averaged 112 in those games that Majak played earlier in the year. So hopefully it won't affect his scoring at all!

Although you could really go either one. Goldstein has the high ceiling, but Minson is very consistent

close to 0% chance of being rested imo. you rest players to freshen them up for finals. that aint happening for north. they're playing to win to spawn supporter and sponsor hopes for next year.

Interesting perspective Fever...

the flipside to that is, of course, that if he's not 100% or close to it, then there's no reason to put his body at risk and potentially set him back for preseason/next season. so in that sense i can see him being mothballed, but not just for the sake of it.

i voted kreuz in your poll blues. think he's in great touch. only reason to not pick him would be if the extra 30k makes a difference elsewhere.

Yeah, he averaged 113 in the games that Daw played earlier in the season, 1 point lower than his total season average  ;)
