All this talk of Goldy being rested?

roo boys!

All along North have said that Currie was only recruited for insurance if Goldy went down as Majak/Mabon weren't ready to play No.1 ruck.

Daw may come into the team but really I doubt it, Goldy will play and score well. If Goldy gets rested then you can all burn my house down if you want, he'll play out the year.

Anyone also think that the move to make Petrie captain could signal he'll be playing more time around the ball further up the ground spending more time in the ruck where he can be more influential as captain? We see a lot more midfield type players being captains than a full forward who just spends his time camped down in the square.

I wish I could be confident you were right mate, as Goldy is in ripping form and other top 4 teams in my league have Minson. By picking Goldy it could give me an edge, but it could backfire if he does slow down. Might be better grabbing Minson to neutralize the ruck situation?  :-\

With regards to Petrie appointment I wouldn't necessarily think it would mean a change in roles

roo boys!

Not really a change in roles persay, without seeing the numbers I'd say Petrie probably plays 10% of the game in the ruck with Black also running through it a little but not a whole lot, just wouldn't mind seeing this number from Petrie lift closer to 20%.

But hey, Goldy himself says he prefers being the only ruck and we've seen that with his SC scores.

In your situation I'd genuinely go Goldy, I'm biased but think he'll average more than Minson in the run home anyway, I still rate him as a better ruckman. Get around him. Think Minson more of a chance of slowing down as this year is a bit of an aberration on his usual form, lifting over 100 ave for the first time in his career.

Goldy on the other hand has been doing it for years and will continue to do so.

Good point mate about Minno, he has been a genuine muppet in previous years.
