QuoteBoyd will miss the Sunday afternoon match against the Swans after pulling up with a sore calf following the Club's clash against the Eagles.

Persistent soreness has resulted in Boyd having precautionary scans today and he will miss this week.

Somehow this post screwed up when I wrote it... That's all I can find but it sounds to me like it'll just be a week.

Power16

Don't get why people have even touched him this year. This is gonna happen every second week

AlexIsOnFire

Still can score very well, but older body now so will always have niggles that won't go away.

If u have decent bench cover then keep him as its looks to be one week, but if not then bring in Griffen or Beams

Windigo

Very disappointing for him, but I think that the latest injury has put him many off getting him ever again.  :(

Are you just trying to sound smart, or are you completely ignorant to his scoring record over the past 3 years?

Why would you want a premium player that is constantly gonna get niggles. Depends what you're going for I guess. I'm going for overall so I wouldn't touch him. If league I guess he could help being a POD

Again, have a look at how many games he missed over the past 3 seasons. A bloke is allowed to pickup an injury, yes it does look like now his best days are behind him but a 144 and 152 this season shows he can still do it on his day. If he returns for round 23 v Melbourne I know who my sideways midfield trade will be.

I think you are all correct in this instance, the facts are he's averaged 115+ the past three seasons and was originally going to start in my side, not just because his scoring but his durability :) After he bottomed out I was going to pick him but that was the week where we had to decide between Boyd & Stants, in my view at the time Boyd had only gone 100+ twice so Stants was the easy option for me and I picked him. Although Boyd is a fantastic player in Power16's defense I think he was referring to the people who brought Boyd in last week... If a player has been omitted twice in a single year with injury they are no longer durable, they are in fact the opposite, his averages the past three years aren't really relevant as he is averaging 10ppg less this season and he has played less games making a few abnormally high scores inflate his average to 100+. I think Boyd was a great player but now Griff is more of the bulldogs frontrunner. But looking at Boyd's last three even four seasons I understand why you brought him in, but those who brought him in last week understood the risk and Power16 wasn't exactly insulting them in anyway rather he was just stating a fact (which Andrew cited out of context by only quoting half of his input), I can see where both sides are coming from because to bring him in over a player like Beams last week was a real POD choice which in my opinion paid off, you got 112 points + Beams at $580k :)

even with hindsight he's wrong - I brought him in a bit before rd13, made him Captain that rd when there was no Swan, GAJ, Pendles, Watson, etc, etc options and he smashed - made me something like $30k-$60k and I YOLO traded him to ROK when he went down with the cheekbone ... was even considering bringing him back for finals, not this week even before he was not named, as above (eg powersuperkents), because of his previous history of high consistent scoring ...

That was great thinking man, I had Stevie J as my round 13 captain but his 129 was nothing compared to Boyd's (was it the week he scored 140 or 150?). I really wanted him but yeah once a player goes down twice in a season I tend to play it safe. Hopefully his depleted price tag could make him a valuable pick for next season, seriously he has still got it, he returned for one game and scored 112 before casually being omitted with injury (giving people the heads up instead of players for play only to be subbed off on 0-30) :) The biggest toll on those who brought him in recently was just to decide whether to trade him to an equivalent premium or hold him on the pine as liquidated cash (+$530k) he still scored 112 so I don't see how anyone could deem it bad in hindsight, maybe it's a slight inconvenience for those who brought him in but he still scored higher than 4 of my 8 mids (Pendles, Barlow, Stants & Cotch) and equalised with T Mitch and scored 2 less than Gaj. I think looking back coherently the people who brought in Boyd last week didn't lose anything... they rather gained :) btw, how long is he out for? Was it season ending or only a week or two? :)
