Beams' Hefty $$$ Tag

It's getting to 'that' stage in the season where sideways trades and small upgrades are becoming more popular as more and more teams are continuing to complete their sides in preparation for DT finals.

So is an 180k differential between Tom Mitchell and Beams too much, or does Mitchell's inexperience compared to Beams' potential slutty output outweigh this? ???


tBetta raised an interesting point in his weekly article on DT TALK, outlining the fact that Fyfe/Sidebottom are over 100k less and are averaging 10+ ppg more than their 'real price' average.... however, in the words of DT's current #1, Peter Hookman, " Value doesn't matter anymore, my team value is less then then the others in top 10. It's all about the pts. #getHimIn"

Exactly, value doesn't matter. You want to maximise your points on field.
Although if Beams means skimping on other parts of your team then it's worth considering other options.

I'm think Beams is being over-valued though. Good last 2 games, but against teams that cough up lots of points. It was kind of expected. He'll likely get some tags now, and faces much tougher opposition. I personally am not convinced he's the best option this week.

Should be guaranteed 115+ average and he won't be getting substantially cheaper at any point for the rest of the season... so if you don't have another other impending trades.. go for it!! I'm bringing him in for Swallow this week and am excited to see what he racks up. He should beat his BE this week

I voted yes to get him in, personally I've already offloaded Titchell, he's done his job. I'm not sure whether I am going to get him this week though because I'm still playing Nicholls as R2 and I really want Kruez........ But I also am thinking of trading Stanton to Beams and I can't do both........ Another head scratching Thursday  :-\

In the same situation here as well! Nicholls has been an awesome R2, and if he is named I will most likely look to bring Beams in and get Kruezer next week

It's either Beams or Jelwood this week I reckon, with Swan/Ablett/Pendles/Barlow already must-haves. If you don't have Jelwood, maybe get him first at the cheaper price and lower breakeven, then swoop on Beams next week.

Starting Titchell this week a good move when they're playing the Bulldogs.

Hey Jazz, it's always nice to know there is someone in the same position as you :) ( one day ill learn to quote people on my phone). I traded in Grundy last week too, I've been loving the rookie ruck em since Leuy went down. I think after this week the gap between Stanton and Beams will be bigger than Nicholls > Kreuz. I was originally going to dump OKeefe or Griff but now I'm leaning towards Stanton.

I'm undecided. Getting jelwood this week. Beams is to play quality opposition before I trade him in. Also depends on how priddis performs and if I have enough $$$$ in future rounds. At this stage I don't consider a must have but this can change.

Jelwood is definitely the in form player at the moment, but I reckon he looks likely to get tagged in the last 4 weeks?

I got Beams in last week. The points are far more important than the extra cash. I loved having him as a POD this week, I dont think it will last too long.
