Backline Help

I like many others the past few weeks have copped a bit of carnage in the backline. What once felt like a strong line in my team, was thrown into chaos with injuries to Hanley and Goodes.

Last week I did a double trade in my backline which leaves me with this

Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, Ibbotson, McKenzie, Grimes (Clisby,Thurlow)

Now going on averages alone, the inclusions of Ibbotson and McKenzie seemed to me to be pretty good trades. Now all I see are massive holes. Maybe it was because Ibbotson scored his lowest score for the season last week, at the same time McKenzie struggled to 60, playing a more accountable role in defence, and Grimes was given the task of tagging Wells.

I currently have no confidence in this backline going into finals.

My question is, do I aim to change my backline again before the first week of finals, by bringing in say Henderson and Enright? Or am I just going around in circles and not actually fixing things?

What would you do? Would Ibbotson to Henderson this week, and Grimes to Enright next week be good trades.

I wouldn't mate. They are good players and they can score. Give them a few more weeks

My backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Harbrow, Hendo, Grimes (Clisby, Wilson)

I'll only trade these backs if I have a spare luxury trade. Grimes plays the two expansion clubs in the next two, and Harbrow has actually been a semi-decent unique, even though I brought him in four weeks late. His scores from Rnd 11: 106, 91, 97, 99, cue me bringing him in, 74, 75, 74.
So by the end of the season, I'll have chucked Harbrow and Grimes. Probably for Enright and Hanley when he comes back. But I'll take my time :)

If you've got no other issues to fix, and the cash to do it, I don't see a problem with sideways trading to get a few extra points.
That being said, keep an eye on the return of Mcpharlin vs Ibbotson's output.

The only other issues I have is my fwd line.

Stevie J, Rockliffe, Martin, Vouldt, Cox, Kennedy (Christensen, Staker)

The lowest I can finish in my league is 3rd, so I'm more inclined to keep Vouldt. I have loved having Christensen as a point of difference, and hes a good chance of being back this week. Was averaging 92 in the previous 3 weeks before getting injured.

He could always become Lewis if need be. Another thought I had was trading Thurlow for Xavier Richards (sydney) def/fwd $89,000. Then turning Staker into Henderson. Would allow me to move Henderson between lines to cover for Vouldt if hes out, or even move someone like Grimes to the defensive bench and play Henderson in his place.
Solid idea?

Yeah that's not a bad idea at all. Although Jordan Lewis is really looking the goods at the moment...
