I think I'm in the minority people who was actually happy that I didn't have Franklin last week. Ok, huzzah, he broke the ton for the first time in ages, but the way he did it was hopelessly ineffective compared to a midfielder.

Look at Jack Riewoldt, he's a two time Coleman medallist, in 2010 and 2012. Yet despite kicking 78 and 65 goals respectively in those seasons, he was certainly not leading in DT scores, averaging a respectable yet unremarkable 83.6 and 80.1

Back to last week's game. Buddy kicked 8 goals. And he probably was always going to do well against the Dons, seeing as he averages 6 goals per game on them since 2007. Considering that a goal is worth at least 9 points (kick +3, goal +6), that gives Buddy 72 points from his goal-kicking. That's not including marks. The fact is that Buddy only just averages 3 goals per game this season. If Buddy did get his usual three goals last week, his score would be reduced to 77 at best, probably less.

If you are thinking of bringing in Franklin, remember that he's a key forward, who does diddly-squat when chucked in the midfield. Unless you think he'll get 8+ per game for the rest of the season, don't go near him
