Okay, so Petrie just got named stand-in skipper in the absence of Spitta. Really disappointed they didn't give it to JZ.
Yeah I am a little too tbh, as I know are a number of North supporter's. But, nothing personal against Petrie I still think he'll be a great leader, but seems to be a bit like taking the safe option, seeing as hopefully it's not for too long into next year could be a chance to see how JZ goes leading the team as he has often been touted as the future captain, this could almost be a little trial period.

Ziebell isn't ready. He is only 22, and has only played 70 odd games in his career. If Melbourne taught us anything, it's that you don't make guys this young your captain.

If Swallow was just going to miss the rest of this season or something I could see them giving it to him as a sort of trial, but 9 months is FAR too long to be trying to run an experiment like that.

I do like JZ, he is and will be a good player - But North made the right call not giving him the temp-c.

That's not to say Petrie was the right choice, I really have no idea on him as a leader. :-X

Im happy with the move too, Petrie could easily have been the captain but he was a little too old, think he deserves it and give JZ some time. He will be captain one day, but that day hasnt come yet.

Sad news, Andy is one of my favourite players outside of Richmond, really love how he plays the game. :'(

But yeah I like Petrie as captain; as Sid said, you needa be careful with how early you make a bloke captain of his footy club, it's important to not go overboard. Petrie is a champion of a bloke, really well spoken, and is in good form at the moment, think he will do well as captain.

Good luck to Andy Swallow on getting back on the park!
