It actually makes the difference between the premo and average rucks a lot smaller. Which means they are less valuable


Difference between a rookie ruck (Nicholls) and most premo ruck = 12pts
Difference between a rookie mid (Mitchell) and most premo mid = 49pts

No but that's when the fact that he is 26 comes into play and on top of that missing half the season.

Say you had Gaz now and he is as proven as it gets. I would consider trading him for Jaeger if my team was super young cause Gaz is useless to me.

Unfortunately what each team is after doesn't balance a trade. I'm not disputing what both your needs are, just pointing out that KB should have gotten more.

I guess it comes down to how much you rate Mitchell. He is a kid but he is 22 and was a first round draft pick as F/S where there was a stack of GWS concession picks.

... I got confused by the words "I would" and "I needed"  :P

You cant say something is hypothetical and go completely against what you said, then its not really a correct hypothetical? That is literally the same as making up evidence to support your argument and you just got caught up making up evidence to support your claim.

As you said yourself, (i'm talking about the correct version), if you have a team of all young mids, then you would trade for more young mids or keep your own young mid, you wouldn't waste trading a young kid for an older player.
