Sounds good. But I don't mind not having the extra movements however it would even out the competition more. :)

But what if a bottom team wants to trade with a top team and they have two movements left but the top team has none?
Thinks Vinny - That is something that would have to be worked out and not sure how to do it atm. Maybe a player weighting or similar. or Administrator to rule if trade is strengthening lower team.

Comments and this idea going forward and have not really though it through so feel free to disagree or offer further suggestions:

Rather than a cap which I am not really keen on.

Teams finishing 9th - 14th get an extra trade player movement
Teams finishing 15th - 18th get 2 extra trade player movements

Regarding the player movements thinking of this rule:
A total of 10 Player movements are allowed for the trade periods with a minimum of 2 having to be used in 2nd trade period.

are these changes for next season or this season?

i would have thought the teams finishing lower on the ladder were compensated enough through both the national draft order and the rookie preseason draft order.

but don't really care either way, as long as trades are not so uneven they disadvantage other teams them having an extra one or two movements shouldn't hurt. And while you approve trades this should not be an issue.

Are you thinking of introducing this rule NOW Ringo?

Just put it to a vote

Vinny

Justin Bieber

That rule would help heaps actually lol

Nige

Yeah, wouldn't mind another two movements. Only being able to on-trade is killing me.

Justin Bieber

I would like to hear if this rule is going to go in place. I have a deal lined up and we need to use  both periods as it includes draft picks. So what's the go?

Ringo

I put it out for discussion - If you feel that it is needed now and that is consensus I will organise a vote.

Just to clarify do you want the vote on both issues extra movements for lower placed clubs and player movements total to be allowed over the 2 trade periods or just the movements.

Extra movements requires some extra work but am happy to put to the vote if you want that as well.

Vinny

I think the extra-movements is good too Ringo, it evens out the competition and avoids teams turning into Melbourne.

Reckon we should vote on both, it would be good if we could get the vote out now as deals have been made :)

kilbluff1985

Think you just need to be strict on approving lower teams trades like if they trade a starting XV player for a pick and don't have good cover don't approve it

Colliwobblers

i think the vote on both issues separately.

and i also think while your at it we should give the premiers an extra 10 list movements  :o

The wooden spooners should have unlimited then. :P ;)

Ringo

Before I put out for the vote been doing some thinking on the issue raised by Vinny and I would appreciate your thoughts.

I was thinking of categorising players as Category 1, 2, 3, 4 players (20 players per category say) and only these players will be allowed to by traded by teams that are out of movements eg Top 8 teams with 10 completed trades. List to be published.
eg Team 16 wishes to trade out a player for a category 2 player to Team 1 who has used 10 trades then that will be allowed.  Just think this will be more transparent than me be sole arbitrator,
