Isn't that their fault though? Haha. Adds more strategy I guess and more flexibility. I like it :)

I just tried to work out how many picks we'd need to fill our list. With all the picks currently listed that we have (1, 9, 19, 37, 55, 73, 91), we still need 2 more players to fill our senior list, do we fill these via the PSD? We're gonna upgrade Arnot to our senior list using 91 and so we'll have a second spot spare on the rookie list which I assume means we'll only have the two RD picks?

Some clarification would be great.  :)
Over the next week I will be looking at each teams list and advising what is required to take part in national Draft.  Just because you 7 picks does not mean you have to use them all as you can pass.  If however your Senior List does not total 41 at conclusion of Round 6 of the National Draft supplementary picks will be allocated to  allow your list to get to 41,  eg if you currently have 30 players on list following trading and de-listings and we have 6 rounds of the National draft to take your list to 36 then I will allocate another 6 picks after conclusion of Round 6. Supplemetary picks will be listed prior to start of National Draft.

Another discussion point which I am not in favour of could be unlimited trades with the introduction of a minimum and maximum points cap.

Think the list movements helps balance teams rather than points cap but just my opinion.

Nige

I'm honestly not liking the restrictions of having no list movements left and would probably be in favour of bringing in a cap like Worlds.

Vinny

I like movements too, mainly cause the points cap is more confusing. :P

i thought so to until i worked it out it's just the total points your list has scored for the season and there is a limit set you cant be over it before a season starts simples

Same here, I didn't quite understand it either. But it's actually a practical and simple concept.

Haha PB.

I think I get the cap now fellas.

Does anyone think instead of the cap we should go from like 5 movements in period to 8?

Justin Bieber

So if I have a trade in line, but one movement is this period and 2 next period. Could we potentially post it now? Or...

Thanks PB now my headache starts as this is a difficult trade to assess. But will rule asap.

No rush Ringo, do what you feel is right. :) I won't be ontrading these two and won't be in any rush to get another trade done anyway.

unlimited trades is completely nothing like a genuine AFL competition.

points cap makes sense but is totally unfair to teams that drafted youth for the future, just as they get good they will have to cut their players to get under a point cap....

the thing i cant understand is why you would want so many trades? if you are going to have two periods with 8 movements in each or unlimited, we might as well all just draft a whole new team each season since teams will look nothing like they did the season before with unlimited trades, it is just unthinkable to imagine any afl club ever has so many trades in any season it doesnt happen.

but i guess if we dont care if this is anything like the afl unlimited trades would be fine....

as for the points cap it has merit as a ay of balancing sides which is its only purpose imo. but i cant see how you could fairly introduce it as it will hurt the youth clubs who suffer now for drafting youth, then will suffer later as all their youth get to premium status at the same time and have to be delisted due to exceeding a point cap introduced after they drafted their team...

food for thought. an answer would be good because a future points cap is on the cards in AXVS - increased list movements are NOT.

maybe a points cap to be introduced gradually over a couple of seasons, but not for a few seasons to give the youth drafted clubs i refer to a genuine chance at the flag they planned for in a few years when drafting?

i dont know...  might have to talk to Os ;)

Vinny

Yeah I agree Colli, Oxford Owls drafted for youth and now are trading for youth in order to build for future success. I think we should just leave as is to keep it realistic and similar to the AFL. But instead of a maximum of 5 movements each period, we could allow 10 over two periods as Ringo suggested before. Allows more flexibility and it isn't excessive either.
