Before I put out for the vote been doing some thinking on the issue raised by Vinny and I would appreciate your thoughts.

I was thinking of categorising players as Category 1, 2, 3, 4 players (20 players per category say) and only these players will be allowed to by traded by teams that are out of movements eg Top 8 teams with 10 completed trades. List to be published.
eg Team 16 wishes to trade out a player for a category 2 player to Team 1 who has used 10 trades then that will be allowed.  Just think this will be more transparent than me be sole arbitrator,

i offered bonus trades/list movements to a couple of teams last season in AXVS who did not draft their own team.

to allow them to maximise the opportunity given to them i also allowed whoever they chose to trade with the extra movement reuired to make the trade.

eg. bottom 8 team in BXVS wants to make an "extra" trade, then whoever they choose to make their "extra" trade with can do the trade regardless of list movements.

is that what you mean?

i have no problem with that, the top team they trade with gets an extra movement somewhat undeservedly but it is not about them it is about the bottom team you are giving the extra trades to and it will be them proposing the trade.

as for tiers of players - i don't think any of that is necessary, as long as you are only putting through trades which are "even enough" not to give one team or the other an unfair advantage over everyone else through the trade then there won't be a problem?

Yeah I don't think the player category thing is needed just complicates things

the bottom teams however with the bonus list movements would have to nominate the bonus trade being made up front of course so Ringo will know not to count the list movements for the trading partner team....

Vinny

Yeah Colli is right mate. Lets do it and allow the bottom 8 to trade with whoever no matter the movements of the other side.

Don't want to complicate things too much :)

I haven't read this too closely yet but I really think draft concessions is more than enough reward for having a weaker team.

Ringo

Bear in mind though draft concessions are only available for teams winning less than 4 matches and all teams this year won 4 matches or more.

Vinny

Fair enough! Ringo if we got a trade now that is going to take a couple of next periods movements but involves draft picks can we make it now?

Ringo

Have sent out voting on this issue so we can resolve as soon as possible.

Sure, but even then, the lower you finish the higher tour pick each round. If used properly, that's a distinct advantage.

I just don't wanna see the teams that drafted well from the start negatively impacted due to over-compensation of the weak/young teams. That would defeat the purpose of the comp imo.

i agree with you in theory, but I don't see the bottom teams actually gaining an "advantage" through the trade rules being changed to allow them extra movements, IF Ringo keeps the trades fair - they are just changes and slight improvements they gain - NOT MAJOR ONES ....

if he let a bottom team trade their spud for a premium then that would be different but i am certain that won't be happening as the trade approval process must be the same standard as normal trade approval standards Ringo sets.
