I do have a younger team and needed some experience that wasn't too old but solid, so Swallow at 26. The rest of my team is very very young.

As an example I was saying that trading Gaz for youth would not be a bad idea as he is 29 turning 30 come next season so probably has 2-3 left. If I am not Going for a flag in those two years, is he worth keeping. Selling him when he is of high clue is the smartest thing to do I think.

Swallow on the other hand is 26 and has 4-6 years left. I think I can be competive for a flag in that time so Swallow is of value too me.

So now, you are telling me, in all honesty, you think that in 2-3 years when you push for a flag, that a 29 year old Swallow will be considerably better than a 24 year old Mitchell?

no but he wanted Mitchell and I wanted Swallow. I want some experience in my team, some players hit their peak at that age. Watson, Ablett, Swan, SJ. Swallow is extremely durable aswell.

You just said he is durable and he is missing half of next season? Maybe he was durable, but you certainly wouldnt say that right now, especially with the uncertainty of his injury... Honestly I can't be bothered, do the trade, but know that your argument makes little sense. Experience has NOTHING to do with BXV, a rookie can outscore a 250 game player so if you don't think there will be much different in scoring between the two in 2-3 years when you are pushing for a flag, do not trade and you get a premo mid for a further 7 years and can push for a flag for even longer.

In this instance I would keep Mitchell.

I reckon it's a pretty fair trade, there's risk for both teams, more so the bombers, not sure what all the fuss is about
