Never EVER thought i'd be contemplating this but lets be honest buddy has been rubbish this year and you simply can't ignore Stakers form

Anyone else doing the same?

Thankfully I have Mayes in my midline and Bartel in my forwards, meaning I can loophole using Bartel now that Daniher has been named. I think you have to play buddy after a 2 week break, if there is a time this season that he'll go to town it's now... But if he spuddy's it up again I can bring on Mayes who's had some handy outings recently.

tough call my friend but I would play buddy, even though he hasn't been as good as anyone wanted this season he's still averaging higher than staker (just!)

Viscount

Mighty tempting. I resisted getting Buddy at the start of the year. (one good decision)

Last week I played Staker ahead of Gibbs.

Consistent scorer or gamble low to high with Lance.

Franklin's last 6 games against Essendon: 159, 120, 104, 189, 108, 160 = Avg. 140.

Hasn't played them in the last two years, but geez they are some pretty compelling numbers!

May not be in quite the same form as those years, and against some other teams, maybe consider doing this, but against the Dons I would back him in!

I'm in the same boat by the way, but think Hawks have been conservative in resting before this game (probably could have played last week) and he'll be raring to go!

misleading stats imo^

prob stick with ur "premos" nonetheless though

Definitely misleading... I would pick him but those numbers are irrelevant, I don't think he'll get 140. I'll be happy with 90+ at this stage :P

Frozensage

He usually destroys essendon. Kicked goal of the year against us 2 years ago too I think.

fever

ess defence was a shadow of what it is now though

Buddy might be a good one to put the E on tonight for loophole purposes. I'm not confident in him going bang but I'm not going to miss out on it if he does.

Staker is playing good footy, but it'd be a gutsy man to pick him over Buddy, as mentioned always stick with your premiums imo. Slightly misleading numbers but the fact is he loves the Bombers, yes its a different defence, but players historically have sides that throughout their career just destroy. Just ask the Abletts and Richmond supporters.

Yeah, I agree they could be a bit misleading, but Buddy has always been up and down, but history shows that he has generally been up against the bombers.

If you say he is 20pts down on his previous average, (90, down from around 110) if you apply that 'form' scale to these, his scaled average would still be around the 120 mark vs the Dons.

Obviously those numbers don't mean he's guaranteed to get 140, but they are not irrelevant, as his history vs the bombers has to count for something.

He scored a lot of those scores on Dustin Fletcher, who at that time was as good as, if not better than, Carlisle or any current defenders?

The Bombers are a better team in general now, therefore not as likely to get flogged and give up as many points is probably more relevant

At this stage I wouldn't consider his history at all regardless of whether or not he has a good record against the bombers. Bottom line is he is playing nowhere near the level we have come to expect of him this year.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't Fletcher out tonight?

fever

yeah fletcher out tonight.

if i could loophole him i would for sure

I'd be surprised if very many of those scores were on Fletcher.

Slammer

I offloaded Buddy for Roughie last week. Kinda wish I had saved the trade now after Roughie had his worst score for ages.
But that as been the same for all my trades this year eg. Birchall, Hanley, Shaw etc.

I reckon you just have to stick with your Premos regardless. Have faith in Buddy and stick with him.
