Willing to burn my last 2 trades for Elxam

Well, what a torrid year its been.

Was top  500 after round 6 and then it went downhill from there. Currently 14k, but Im only sitting 2 wins outside the Elxam top 16, and it would mean a lot to me to scrape through to finals. Also clinging onto dear life in Gunz for 8th spot. Been trading to cover injuries all year, down to 2.

Current team is.

Goddard - Gibbs - Heppell - Shaw - Hanley  - McKenzie (Thurlow - Clisby)
Ablett - Pendlebery - Stanton - Kornes - Rockliff (FWD) - JPK - Deledio - Ball (Titchell - Hunter)
Goldstein - Roughead (Blicavs - Nicholls)
SJ - JJK - Reiwoldt - Cox - Cloke - Franklin (Macaffer - Staker)

37k in the bank.

Hanley = injured
Ball =  Not a premo
Blicavs/Nicholls = Have almost 800k on my ruck bench! :o
Franklin = White Goodman.

Willing to burn 2 trades or just the one, but I need the win/s this week. More than anything.

Yes you are in a spot of bother aren't you mate? Biggest concern for me is your ridiculous amount of money sitting on your ruck bench. 1st move would be to downgrade Blicavs to Mcbean and then upgrade to a Super premo in the Mids (Griffen, Swan, Barlow, Danger) (when he returns) all missing in there. Pity you don't have three trades to do more but what can you do?

Clisby can play while Hanley is out. Staker and Franklin can be played upon their opponent - You make the choice. Nicholls can be loopholed and if he goes big or one of Rough and Goldy go small you can chuck him in using Mcbean. You have very good bench cover mate across all lines, which is impressive.

Your choice out of Titchell or Ball as to who makes way for one of those super premo's. Probably Ball for Griffen would be the best idea?

Good luck mate, and hope everything works out for you.

Jesty

All I can think is 2 trades for 2 premos which means taking a risk on a fallen star like MMurphy in for one of Ball or stanton gives you another 80-100K + your 37K for another premo.

Ok Koopy, time to look up!  :)

1. Clisby onto the ground for Hanley, Hanley SHOULD  only be 2-3 weeks at most. Clisby should be a solid 60-80.

2. Staker on ground for Buddy, Buddy is not worth trading at this point.

3. Blicavs>Rookie ruck & Ball>Barlow

I'd do these moves.

2-3 weeks is a long time at this point of the season though. I'd gamble a bit and get Duffield for Hanley, he's a proven premium over the years with an easy run home and is really cheap. Then I'd go Ball to ROK. Another POD proven premium who traditionally finishes the season strongly.

The trouble with downgrading your ruck bench is it wastes a trade and leaves you relying heavily on Clisby.

Actually, Tom Mitchell to Cotchin would probably be a more productive trade than Ball to ROK.

He will be everyones best mate come finals. Just wait for the Franklin appreciation threads  :D
This freshen up he has had will do him the world of good. The knee injury crap is just an excuse for resting him, you will see how injured he was when he bags half a dozen on Fri night.
With your side you will have to hold onto those trades, just hope the uniques in your side Stanton, Kornes, Ball average 115-120 points for rest of season. Pray Clisby goes bananas whilst Hanley is down.

Thanks for your help guys. At the moment Im still weighing up my options.

MC

If I were in your position I would make the following trades:

1. Blicavs to a cheap ruck rookie - Ideally McBean for DPP, however you'll have one of Roughie or Nicholls on the bench to cover anyway, and Roughhead as DPP with Cox, so you should be right anyway.

2. A few options here, one would be to keep Ball and Mitchell as rotating M8s for the year (not the worst case scenario tbh) and trade Thurlow (@200kish) to a forward worth around the 500k mark (via Staker to DEF). An ideal player imo would be Walker who at 490k would fit perfectly, and he is averaging 105+.

Team would be:

Goddard - Gibbs - Heppell - Shaw - Staker  - McKenzie (Hanley - Clisby)
Ablett - Pendlebery - Stanton - Kornes - Rockliff (FWD) - JPK - Deledio - Ball (Titchell - Hunter)
Goldstein - Roughead (McBean - Nicholls)
SJ - JJK - Reiwoldt - Cox - Cloke - Walker (Macaffer - Franklin)

Positives: Good bench cover for injuries and the dreaded General, as well as very little cash left over (wasted). Plenty of DPP options between your team, ie Rockliff to FWD as well as Roughie/Cox etc. Might open up options to use the rolling lockout effectively, meaning you might sub Rockliff to the Fwds for a non-playing DPP if Ball/Mitchell dominate in an early game etc.
Negatives: No trades left for the year, relying on Hanley to return to full fitness, and good luck re: Ball/Mitchell choice every week.
