Goldy tiring

There has been lots of talk and on how Goldy is tiring.

His work load in the ruck and around the ground for North is huge. They have no second ruck as Daw and possibly Currie aren't being played and Petrie is too valuable up forward.

In the last quarter against Carlton - Kreuzer absolutely dominated. Goldy seems completely stuffed and couldn't get to contests leaving him with zero touches and zero marks.

Will he be rested ? Or will Currie / Daw play in the same squad with him to share the load ?

All thoughts appreciated :)

You'd think Majak would come in. Not sure if Goldy will be rested, but sharing the load with Majak could work.

roo boys!

Petrie and even Black have given him a bit of a chop out in the ruck, not sure if they'd be able to play Petrie, Black, Tarrant and Daw up forward with Hansen, Grima and Thompson down back. Way too top heavy.

Not sure if any of Petrie/Black/Tarrant are really drop worthy, they're better forwards than Daw that's for sure. Not entirely sure what the solution is, but I wouldn't mind seeing the same team and just giving more responsibility to Black and Tarrant to kick the goals so Petrie can play more and more time in the ruck when Goldy needs it.

I've watched Goldy pretty closely at games, his end to end gut running is phenomenal, he just doesn't stop. Hardly ever seen him walking while the ball's in play.

Surely the daw opens for door to come in and help Goldy out

I'll be honest tabsy, I was tempted.  :P

its me lads

They usually don't play 2 rucks because Goldy is useless up forward isn't he?

If there are any upset tummies from the CURRIE there is a chance the back DAW will open!

Wouldn't say useless, has slotted a few nice goals this year, would be more an issue of team structure.

Goldy, Currie, Petrie, Thompson, Grima, Black, Tarrant, Hansen all over 190cm...getting ridiculous.

Can Carlton have one of them ?! We are desperate. ;)

Plenty of teams do this though. You could fit more in, especially given Currie has never even played a game.. :P

Hawthorn: Roughead, Birchall, Lake, Gunston, Franklin, Schoenmakers, Hale, Bailey, (Grimley)

Geelong: Brown, Mackie, Taylor, Corey, West, Lonergan, Murdoch, Rivers, Hawkins, Vardy, Podsiadly, Thurlow, Blicavs

Essendon: Bellchambers, Ryder, Hooker, Hurley, Crameri, Carlisle, Watson, Pears, Myers, Fletcher, Daniher, Gumbleton, NLM

Fremantle: Dawson, Fyfe, Sandliands, Mundy, McPharlin, Bradley, Pavlich, Johnson, Griffin, Clarke, Hannath

Sydney: Everitt, White, T Richards, LRT, Johnson, Goodes, Grundy, Mumford, X Richards, Reid, Pyke, Tippett

Can't be bothered going further, but looks like most teams play like...heaps. :P

roo boys!

Yeah knew when I said over 190cm that would lead to some smart arse mentioning all the tall non-KPP players :P

Reason I didn't say 195cm+ was Black is only at 192cm which surprised me, he is certainly agile but I'd still say he's a tall forward!

Grima and Thompson relatively small given some of the monsters they play on but they're true KP defenders, and do it with aplomb.

I only put Currie in because that was the suggestion from people to play Currie and Goldy in the same team and I said that's just about breaking point.

I'm sure North would have other "small" players at 190 or 191 cm, but I was just listing the key position players at each end of the ground. Although Hansen has been more of a floater lately down back.

Vinny

At Carlton -

We have as possible forwards.

Kreuzer - His suited to playing in the ruck.
Casboult - Good mark, still very young and his shot at goal needs work.
Rowe - Also has potential but needs to develop
Waite - Very good player but can't get on the park due to injuries.
Henderson - Really like Hendo, good mark and very handy as he can play up back too.

Other than that our small forwards Garlett Betts and Yarran aren't consistent enough and I reckon Yaz is better playing in defence. We are pretty much desperate for a key tall forward

This should be in the Blues section :P Getting carried away hahaha.
