Lads and Ladettes,

For some of us, it's the beginning of the end. 12 years of schooling has come down to these last 3 months before we sit our final 5 or 6 exams. :-[

For us, many get scared by the thought of these exams. I for one, struggle to get my words out in my writing, and structure of my essays escapes me in time of panic. :o

But my biggest problem (partly due to FF and DT) is procrastination and the lack of will to do something constructive. I'll try and try and try, then try some more, and then try again in a different place then attempt to think about trying when all i can do is try to do something else. >:( :(

This is the thread for those of the FF community to vent their frustration, talk about common difficulties and we, as one, can work together to achieve our full potential (at school).

And, to the other, older, users out there, who have been there and done that, some advice on how to push through the pain and 'crack on' would not go astray. Advice on study techniques, help on specific subjects, attempts to generate something constructive within those brains of ours. We can read this chat forum within our 10-15 minute breaks, in an attempt to motivate us for that next 45 minute block, which seems to be an endless occurrence. :'(

There is light at the end of the tunnel. And we can all achieve goals, whether it be that 60, 70, 80, 90, 95 or 99.96 (certainly not me) ATAR goal that we (but mainly our parents) want us to achieve. Push through these last 3 months, and may us all share in accompaniment, that we will all get absolutely MORTAL at Leavers, and destroy those brain cells that we have developed over these 12 years.  ;D ;)

Now, post away my minions, make this a worthwhile thread, enriching our 16/17 year old lives in a time of severe distress, distraught and all round; tragedy.  ::)

Good Luck everyone, and may you all achieve the best that you can be.

Just cruise through it, is what I did.

Everyone puts so much emphasis on exams and in the end, it isn't the end of the world if you don't do exceedingly well.

try as hard as you can, but if you dont get the marks you want you can always follow the path you want to go it just might save some time. Put in the effort for 3 months and it means you dont have to try hard for a whole year next year to get into the course you really want to get into. There is always a way around it but putting in the effort now is the easiest.

Do what you need to do, but make sure you leave time to relax and socialize! Otherwise it's easy to burn out!

I always found it easier setting deadlines for myself, worked better under pressure.

Good luck, just do your best! :)

During the final HSC month all I did was sleep, eat, masturbate and study.

I can not put enough emphasis on the importance of all 4.

Yeah I'm in year 12 too atm, can sympathise with you. Just an idea I heard from someone  that I can't remember about exams is to not fear exams, take them as a chance to show off what you have learnt through the year. Luckily I don't really suffer from excessive nerves before exams, just get a bit nervous but nothing unmanageable. Study for short periods and take lots of breaks, but when you study make sure it's solid work, with any distractions like phone, computer etc in another room. Make sure gou have a balance as well with sport and socialising.

It's true that VCE isn't the be all and end all like some people make out, having said that though you should still do your best to achieve your goals so you don't end up with regrets. All the best mate!

Do as many practice exams as you can LOLOL

For accounting I tried to do every single exam I could find and ended up busting out a really good score :P
Make sure you read ahead of your school as they don't give you enough exam preparation. Around 2 months of exam prep is needed for a really good score so aim to be finished the course about near the end of term 3. Then by the exam time everything will be a piece of cake. Except English cause its a dog

But yeah also sleep. Didn't study past 11 on any day and didn't stay up past 12 at all

Not sure what subjects you're doing, but for Business Management, I found all the practice exams I did very helpful.

And yeah, sleep is quite handy too, throughout all my schooling life I was never one of those guys who would stay up really late. I would rarely be up past midnight.

Do not buy a PS3 and FIFA just before your exams :P
