ON THE CUSP: Remember Daniel Currie? A dominant force during the pre-season, Currie has been unable to break into the Kangaroos best 22. But Goldy is tiring and Currie looks to have overcome a string of niggling (thumb, heel) injuries.

Does it really matter by this stage of the year? He's irrelevant until next year. Hopefully changes club where he will get more opportunities

Jroo

I wouldn't be surprised to see Currie given a go. Goldy needs a rest or some help in the ruck.

david17

I dont want him to play his a good loophole for the rucks lol

roo boys!

Highly highly doubt Currie and Goldy will play in the same team. North won't make finals so no real need to rest Goldy IMO, he'll play the year out.

So in short, unless Goldy gets injured then I'd say no.

cortez

They will either chuck Petrie in to pinch hit or play Daw. Probably play Daw.

Capper

arent North one of the taller teams going around though (that is if you dont include Boomer)

Yep, Goldy, Petrie, Tarrant, Black, Hansen, Thompson, Grima all key position players over 190 cm.

TheMoops

Daw had like 50 hitouts on the weekend in the reserves might get a gig ahead of Currie, surely they will want to blood Majak in the AFL to get him ready to fire sooner rather than later

Ricochet

Goldy did look very tired during stages of the game. I wouldn't be surprised if they rest him or bring in another ruckman to help out

He was rucking by himself for the whole game, and kreuzer isn't really your slow type ruckman, hard to keep up. I don't understand this whole resting player business. They make finals, you rest him, they don't make finals, you rest him... which one is it??

Capper

Daw will come in before Currie unless Goldy gets rested, but i dont see Goldy getting rested

Injuries mate. If they constantly run a player into the ground his body will tire to a point where he is more susceptible to injuries. If a team is guaranteed to not make finals then they will want a full squad ready to go in October/November for preseason. They will also look for opportunities to get games into less experienced players so their development is fast tracked. So IF Goldy's body is struggling/sore at this point in the season and they will not make finals then sometimes it is best to give him a rest/bring in Daw or Currie to 1) make sure Goldy's body is ok for next year and 2) get valuable game time into Daw/Currie

goldy hasn't been playing that well for weeks now. imo. (as a roo supporter). Been towelled up by most opponents each week. Max Bailey, Nicholls, Leuenberger, Kreuzer have all out played him. Sure he may win hitout numbers, but does flower all else around the ground to contribute. You just need to look at his past results to see what I'm on about.

So as a Kanga, I'm hoping he gets rested and Currie gets his chance, but knowing the roos match commitee, this is probably not going to happen.

HaHa and just today B.Scott says that Goldy is All Australian form and ony be beaten once in 16 games this week against Kreuzer.

Suggest Mr Scott re-visits his previous stats, cos he's DREAMING if he thinks Goldy is in this form.
