Priddis touched the ball 27 times?

+1 he was actually pretty prolific.

You want him to drop it on the boot more though ;)

Oh my days that depth! Three tons in the emergencies! Not a bad all round performance, Dusty really stepping up as a potential skipper! I need to sort out who to start and who to cut each week though!

Ringo

In the side match for the Rob Roy Shield both teams did not perform to their full potential but the Badgers 1475 defeats the Owls 1367.

Round 16 the Penultimate Round produced some interesting results.

The final 8 is virtually decided unless the Hedgehogs are defeated and the Falcons have a huge % booster win.

In one of the biggest upsets of the seasons the Lobsters under the new coaching panel defeated the Hawks. The Werewolves virtually cemented top spot comfortably answering the challenge of the Badgers, and in the closest game of the season the Hoods just held on to defeat the Hurricanes by 1 point.

Round 16 Results

Winchester Werewolves 27.17.179 defeated Bradford Badgers 22.16.148
Late changes; Jackson Macrae replaced Luke Ball for the Werewolves and Will Minson replaced Dion Prestia for the Badgers.
In what was originally highlighted as the game of the round the Werewolves stamped their authority by comfortably defeating the Badgers, The Badgers suffered a loss early with one of their gun midfielders Dion Prestia succumbing to a hamstring injury. This may have upset the Badgers structure as they were unable to match the utility players of Ben Cunnington and Sam Gibson when used for the Werewolves. This left the Badgers a little thin and the Werewolves were able to capitalise up front with Tom Lynch, Dayne Zorko and Jack Gunston able to covert. With Bryce Gibbs floating across the half back line the Werewolves were able to repel most Badgers attacks despite the efforts of Paul Puopolo. The loss sees the Badgers now locked in a tight struggle for 4th position.
Best Players:
Werewolves: Cunnington, Fyfe, Gibson, Priddis, Gibbs
Badgers: Cotchin, Replacement Will Minson, Puopolo, Barlow, Griffen,

Liverpool Lobsters 26.16.172 defeated Huddersfield Hawks 25.16.166
Late Changes: Koby Stevens replaced Jacob Brennan for the Hawks.
In the upset of the season the Lobsters defeated the Hawks who were trying to consolidate a position in the top 4. The late withdrawal of Brennan probably cost the Hawks the match forcing them to play midfielder Koby Stevens as a defender. Despite this setback nothing can be taken away from the lobsters who produced their best display of the season. Coaches NigeyS and KoopKicka will be well pleased and hoping they can keep it up against the sliding Falcons next week to lift themselves of the bottom of the ladder. Teams were reasonably well matched  with the Lobsters out to an early lead and withstanding the strong finish of the Hawks urged on by their vocal home crowd. There was a great duel between the 2 ruckmen Todd Goldstein for the Lobsters and Matthew Kreuzer for the Hawks who went at all day with points being shared but was a very absorbing for the crowd in attendance. The difference in the end proved to be the Lobsters defence led by Dyson Heppell who were able to control the match late thwarting all the Hawks forward thrusts. The Hurricanes were also let down badly by Captain Josh Kennedy in his worst performance of the season. The Loss by the Hawks now sees them locked in a titanic struggle with the Badgers and Hurricanes for the all important 4th spot.
Best Players:
Lobsters: Harvey, Goldstein, Heppell, Grigg, Clancee Pearce
Hawks: Bastinac, Sam Mitchell, Kreuzer, Sylvia, Broadbent.

Manchester Magic 27.19.181 defeated Crosby Cruisers 24.17.161
Late changes: Jamie MacMillan replaced Jordan Murdoch for the Cruisers.
The Cruisers put a week of turmoil behind them with the sacking of their coach and appointment of new coach Ossie 85 to put in their best performance of the season but it was not enough to defeat the Magic who produced their highest score of the season.  The Cruisers were hard hit by injury and were not helped by having to play 3 players out of their normal positions, Coach Torpedo must be scratching his head with this performance and wondering where it was earlier in the season.  In a free flowing game the Magic really clicked this week with all players contributing resulting in the win. The win was set up by a dominant display by the Magic forwards, who were able to capitilise on the midfield dominated by Callan Ward, Rory Sloane and Tom Liberatore, with Buddy Franklin finally finding some form and he was ably supported by Jeremy Cameron and Steven Motlop. Unfortunately for the cruisers Heath Scotland lacked the support of his fellow defenders to repel the onslaughtby the Magic.  launched  The Magic will be looking to consolidate in their next game against the Bombers to avoid the Dungeon award.
Best Players:
Magic: Ward, Liberatore, Sloane, Motlop. Franklin
Cruisers: Johnson, Scotland, Boak, Simpson, Reddan

Leeds Leeches 23.13.151 defeated Newcastle Falcons 22.12.144
Late changes; Daniel Merrett replaced Mark Le Cras for the Leeches,
In what can be described as a minor upset the Leeches virtually put paid to the Falcons finals inspirations by defeating them in a close match. It was another very disappointing by the once high flying falcons and must have the coaches wondering what is going wrong as team is not really gelling at the moment. Despite a sub par performance from captain Brett Delidio the Leeches midfield were able to got on top of the Falcons midfield setting up the win. The Leeches also welcomed back from injury big Charlie Dixon who exerted his authority early to show what they have missed with his time out. Captain Joel Selwood in a best on ground performance toiled manfully for the Falcons but lacked support from his team mates who at times appeared disinterested, The Falcons must defeat the resurgent Lobsters by a huge margin this week if they hope to play finals football but this is unlikely given their present form.
Best Players:
Leeches: Hayes, Michael Johnson, Dixon, Van Berlo, Carazzo
Falcons: Selwood, Hanneberry, Suban

Birmingham Bombers 28.17.185 defeated the Bilston Bunnies 25.17.167
Late changes: Zac Tuohy replaced Jack Hombsch for the Bunnies
The Bombers cemented their place in the final 8 with a comfortable win of the Bunnies who toiled manfully but were unable to match the form of the Bombers. With an all round team performance by the Bombers from defence to forwards the Bunnies were unable to exert any pressure despite the BOG performance of Captain Dayne Beams.
This team performance must have pleased the coach and if they can replicate it in the finals they will be a force. The Bombers will be hoping to continue this from as they take on the Magic this week.
Best Players:
Bombers: Vince, Hartlett, Wells, Crouch, Lewis.
Bunnies: Beams. Dalhaus, Adams, Curnow, Mayne

Steins Steins 19.21.135 defeated  Grope Lane Giants 19.19.133
Late changes; Tom Lonergan replaced Dean Terlich for the Steins,
In what was a must win game for the Giants if they were to avoid the Dungeon award they just fell short of the Steins in a very scrappy game. The game was played at Steins home ground Whitesheaf Park and crowd was very sparse as would be expected with these teams positions on the ladder. It was only the closeness of the game that maintained interest as both teams continually fumbled the ball, failed to find targets with kicks and both teams having less than 50% disposal efficiency.  Wayward kicking did not help the game as a spectacle. Kieran Jack and Ryan O'Keeffe were outstanding for the Steins but little can be said for their fellow team mates who continually butchered the ball. For the Giants McLean and Wallis nearly matched Jack and O'Keeffe but again they lacked support from team mates. Steins now certainly will avoid the bottom 4 and Giants now face the daunting task of defeating the Hoods if there are to be certain of avoiding the Dungeon award,
Best Players:
Steins: Jack. O'Keeffe, Judd
Giants: Wallis, McLean, Conca, Stanley

Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs 25.19.169 defeated Oxford Owls 20.17/137
Late change: Ashton Hams replaced Adam Selwood for the Owls.
The Owls have been decimated by injury and were forced to play 2 mids as defenders which unfortunately allowed Dustin Martin and Craig Bird to run amok on the forward line setting up the win despite the herculean effort of Bob Murphy in defence.  Captain Travis Cloke was unable to get his hands on the ball forawrd for the Owls and had one of his worst game for the season. The Owls can take heart from the continued good showing of Jack Steven and Rookies Jaeger O'Meara and Ollie Wines as the future looks bright with these three getting experience now, For the Hedgehogs it was a solid team performance although captain Brent Stanton was a little disappointing. The Hedgehogs consolidate 8th position but need to win against the Bunnies this week to cement position.
Best Players:
Hedgehogs: Martin, Heath Shaw, Nathan Jones, Greene, Scott Selwood
Owls: Steven, Murphy, Wellingham, Kelly, O'Meara,

Swansea Breakers 28.18.186 defeated Swindon Swaggers 25.18.168
Despite a vastly improved performance from the swaggers they were no match for the third placed Breakers who continue to remain in the top 4. The Breakers midfield of Swan, Sidebottom. Montagna, Cooney and Moloney were much to strong for the Swaggers and as a result the Breakers were able to control the game. The Swaggers should not be disappointed with their game as it was vastly improved and coach jukes as plenty to work with for next year but they ran into a hot Breakers outfit tuning up for the finals. Swaggers need to defeat the Owls this week to ensure they avoid the Dungeon award whilst the breakers can lock down 3rd spot with a win against the Hurricanes who will be just as desperate to remain in the Top 4.
Best Players:
Breakers Swan, Sidebottom, Montagna, Cooney, Henderson
Swaggers: Guerra, Rockliff, Savage, Mumford, Blair

Nottingham Hoods 25.11.161 defeated Hastings Hurricanes 23.22.160
Late changes:Andy Otten replaced Dylan Roberton
In a very tight game as would be expected in a 2 v 4 clash the Hoods urged on by their parochial home crowd just prevailed by one point. The Hoods due to injuries were forced to play Dawson Simpson as a forward and this nearly backfired on them and cost them the win. This was an extremely entertaining game with neither team willing to give any ground as evident by the amount of fierce tackling that took place. The decision to use Captain Kane Cornes as a tagger on Pendlebury probably cost the Hurricanes the game as his performance was well and truly down on previous weeks although Pendles was kept to one of his lowest scores for the season. Again captain Gary Ablett for the Hoods was able to control the midfield and was instrumental in gaining clearances when needed and kicking a crucial goal towards the end of the match. The Hurricane rookie Tom Mitchell continues to impress and he will serve them well next year. Wayward kicking did not help the Hurricanes who had more shots on goal than the Hoods. There will be extra kicking practice on the training agenda this week for the Hurricanes who face the Breakers in a crucial match if they are to remain in 4th place.
Best Players
Hoods: Ablett, Hodge, Sewell, Clint Jones, Pendlebury
Hurricanes: Gaff, Mitchell, Stephen Hill, Goddard. Mundy

At least our draft pick got a little better lol.

Did Steins submit their team for the 20 points? If I submitted would have been a tie :o

Neither Steins to Giants submitted updated teams so would have been a draw however you still would have lost overall on points 1349 to 1347
