Hey all

At the start of round eleven I was ranked 1206 and each week since then I have moved up in the overall rankings and am currently sitting 62nd.

Right now I am 530 points behind the leader so it will be a tough task to make that up over the next 6 weeks but what I do have in my favour is plenty of trades. I know for a fact that there are a heap of teams ranked ahead of me with either 1 or no trades left.

My current team is:

Goddard, Hanley, Heppell, Hartlett, Gibbs, Ibbotson (Goodes, Wilson)
Ablett, Pendlebury, J Selwood, JPK, Dangerfield, Cotchin, Fyfe, Mitchell (Saunders, K Martin)
Minson, Goldstein (Nicholls, Currie)
Walker, Cox, D Martin, Rockliff, JJK, Stevie J (Staker, Bennedy)

I have plenty of trades and plenty of cash.

My plan is to hold on to Dangerfield as I have good coverage with the ability to switch one of my premo defenders with Saunders in the mids for coverage. I think Danger will be a great POD too as a lot of teams have traded him out.

So this week I need to trade out Goodes. What I'm thinking is switching Staker to defence and trading Goodes out for either Roughy, N Roo or B Harvey. Thoughts on which one or is there a better option?

My plan after that is at the start of SC Finals (Round 20) to downgrade Nicholls to McBean to make some cash and give me RUC/FWD DPP and then upgrade K Martin to the mid of my choice. I want to trade out Martin for a POD so that it can give me a better chance at winning overall so I was thinking Watson if he is back from injury or Beams. Thoughts on which one or is there a better option?

All advice appreciated and cheered!

Well done.

Swan can score really big.

Griffen in a couple of weeks is worth a look too.

I would offload Danger to maximise value on field, which in theory translates to points.

If your competition have fewer trades then they will be forced to sit $$$$ on the bench until he returns (and Watson for that matter). Your advantage ie trades, needs to be realised to get maximum benefit from it.

Roughy playing against a decent Essendon defence and good rucks looks less likely to score well this week. NRoo has Geelong whilst Boomer has Melbourne this week.

I'd hold your forward line as is and maximise mid output ASAP. Danger may be 3 weeks away - who knows?

Good luck.

Id be upgrading Goodes and benching hartlett. Last 5 RD avg of 83 is not good.

if you want to catch up that many points you cant afford to keep dangerifeld you need to be playing the best of the best to catch the top guys.

Im about 300 points ahead of you and with your sqaud you cant catch me. use your trades and you might.

Danger to Swan/Griffen getting a better mid than mitchell at m8 is a must.

just for comparison here is my team. You can catch up if you trade hard.

Goddard Hanley Heppell Gibbs Staker Mckeznie (Hibberd, Webster)
Pendles Ablett Swan Selwood JPK Griffen Cotchin SJ (T.Mitchell, Hroovaat)
Minson Goldy (Nicholls Rowe)
Bartel JJK Walker Cox Martin Rocky (Haynes, Neade)

0% chance of the 50k sorry to say ben. good team, but it's way too far off in points.

how much cash spare and how many trades exactly do you have?

Never say never mate. I have been catching up to the leader by roughly 90 points per week over the last few weeks. If I continue that then I'm in with a shot.

I have 7 trades left and 133k.

I think I will take the advice from the lads who have commented and pull the trigger on Dangerfield this week if he isn't named.

super work so far - but remember, no prize for 2nd !!

max points each week only way to go, and with trades up your sleeve you got to do it.

not sure if there is anything magical that I can add in terms of specific trades...but I do like Beams, really don't like the new role Gibbs seems to be having, and Hartlett an ongoing disappointment really...

only advice I have what John Kennedy said.....  DO SOMETHING......as doing nothing is not going to win it !

Well done on getting yourself as high as you are with 7 trades left. I think you need to do something out of the box, you need a POD to get yourself up the ladder.

This POD may be a unique player, but it may also be losing a player that everyone has in the hope that they underperform. Cox fits this mould nicely. If he averages 80 between now and the end of the year and you can trade him to someone who storms home averaging 110 there is quite a few points.

With two trades per week, you need to maximise the value you are getting out of your trades, so Danger to Murphy may be a risk worth taking as it will allow you to upgrade Cox and have some $$ for upgrades next week too.

I am not saying these are the trades to do, but this is an alternative way to look at it. Good luck!

That leader has been scoring terrible recently though so I think someone else will be pop up and win and hopefully Holzman. I'm out at 79 after making a huge blunder 2 weeks ago and wasted a trade and like 160 points so yeah. That team is really similar to mine and on a given day we will score about equal most weeks.

Actually my team is better than that.

Swan > Dangerfield
Roughead < Goldstein
Griffen > Fyfe
Nroo = Walker (atm)
Bartel > Mitchell (although Bartel is suspended so I have Mitchell)
Shaw > Hartlett

So I might have a shot then at beating you as I am like 50 points behind.

Great effort. Danger to Griffin if you are after the win. Bullies v demons rd.23. Would also be watching D Beams very closely with a view to getting him in as your last mid as soon as possible.  Woods v Nth Melb in rd.23. Fantastic effort and all the very best of luck and if you don't have a red hot go , you'll never know.

Thanks for all the advice fellas. A cheer to all who helped.

I wasn't planning on getting rid of Danger but you have swayed me to do so now.

Barring any suprises at the selection table this week I will trade out Goodes for Roughy and Danger for Griffen.

Nice ranking, keep going and i hope you improve your ranking. Goodes for Roughy and Danger for Griffen or Swan would be the trades i would make. Good luck
