Watto great innings and hopefully my boy Stevey can finally get that 100

and the simple fact is this series on individual performance watson>cook, deal with it
Get ready for a real fight in Australia (also looking forward to Boo the cheat Broad :D )

I wish these peanut pommies will get off this thread. Australia is in a rebuilding stage after being top dogs for 20 years. Have a look at both linups with the poms having 8 players with over 50 tests experience and Aus with only one (clarke). If they weren't 3 nil up there would be something wrong with them. In fact they should be embarrassed with the way we have played in 3 of the test because if things may have gone our way we may have won a couple and the series would still be alive.

I am sure we are not too far away from getting a batting card together to lift us up to the top again.

Great to see Watto finally cash in. He has got starts in nearly every innings this series but hasn't gone on with it until now. Makes those calling for his dropping look a bit stupid, he definitely was on thin ice though. This innings should basically make him the number 3 for at least the whole home series.

Having said that I did call for steve smith to be dropped and he's made a fool out of me, hopefully he can get the ton. Hopefully my favourite aussie siddle can get a 50 or something.

We're on top at the moment no doubt, but the pitch looks pretty flat, hopefully the extra bowler in faulkner will help us get the 20 wickets.

the fact is we're Aussies, except Jukesy and i *think* PB, and we like supporting Australia even if we don't agree with some of our team selections.
Nope i'm an Aussie. I just like to be different. :) I like every team for various reasons, and would much rather a close series than the one going on atm. :) I just have alot of favourite players, preferably those which are either unknown or not popular, then I jump off them when everyone else jumps on because that becomes normal. i.e. Phil Hughes and James Anderson, and soon to be Steve Smith.

I agree that some of our players are overrated (personally I think Smith and to a lesser extent Starc and Warner) but Rogers certainly isn;t a hack nor overrated. He has put in the hard yards and played consistently well at first class level, probably deserving more test chances than he's got. He's averaged over 40 for this series, been our second best batsmen and has seen off the new ball (the primary role of the opener) in the vast majority of innings he's played. He has been worn down by Swan occaisionly, but so too have many of the other batsmen. I don't understand why you chose to pick on him.

The reason why Rogers is playing (has to be this imo) is because the squad is so inexperienced. There is noone with test experience that can be bought in that wants to, so the next best thing is to have an experienced FC player who has played in England and has runs under his belt. It's not test experience, however his presence would definitely help the young fellas along. Steve Smith for example has had a very good tour imo, heavily scrutinsed but has made some decent 50s, if he could turn his current score into a 100 that'd be a brilliant effort for a future Australian leader (imo he'll be the next captain, big call, but there's a future there as a batter)

^Notice how a) i can be positive towards Australia, so you people that say i'm a pommie bandwagoner can eat their words, I'm neutral. and b) I managed to turn that post from defending Rogers to talking up my favourite Aussie player alot. :P

I respect that but I guess myself and a lot of aussie fans find it difficult to comprehend how anyone could be neutral in as passionate a series as this. Many of us that were raised correctly had it instilled in us in no unclear manner that we would fiercely hate the poms  :P

meh fair enough, i have nothing against supporting your country, obviously, it's normal, I'm not. But being patriotic to the point where you're speaking lies and being blatantly wrong because it went against your team, is where i have a problem. Works both ways obviously, Jukes is a culprit aswell. :P

Wish this rain would go away, wanna see Smith score a ton. :(

I also like to think I'm neutral.
