Everyone does realise that Johnson isn't in the squad and isn't even in England right? He is practically no chance to play this series. Starc and Faulkner are the left armers we have.

There's been talk of Chadd Sayers (inb4 who?) being brought in to the squad to replace Patto.

Personally, I'd love to see Jackson Bird take Patto's place in the XI.

Another lad is Patty Cummins, don't think he'll be the chosen one though, if it was in Australia then maybe.

Sayers would be an interesting inclusion, back him to do a Bob Massie. Expect to see Cummins in for the return series, let him get some cricket under his belt first.

A bit of talk about Matthew Wade coming back in as a batsman. Guess he can't do any worse than the others?

Can't do any worse, can do better.  ;)

Chadd Sayers! :D very good bowler. Does enough to get wickets!

My man Nathan Lyon has to play! How long can Agar keep his spot based on 1 good batting innings when he is not even being picked as a batsman? Lyon is a far superior bowler.

I'd like to see bird back in, very mcgrath like and i reckon he could do well on english wickets. Haven't heard much about Sayers.

I really think steve smith has to go, played 1 decent innings and fluked 3 wickets with the ball, lets face it he mainly bowled half trackers. If we need another spin option bowl clarke. Unfortunately I think he will stay for the rest of the series, when we get to australia would like to see someone like doolan or ferguson replace him.

Boof has flagged playing 2 spinners, not sure about that since our pacemen have been our best bowlers. Would not mind a straight swap agar for lyon though. Lyon was very stiff to not be picked for the 1st test after he got 9 wickets in his last match. Although agar scored 98 and may well be the best option in the future as he has a lot of time to develop, he was ineffective with the ball in a match where his opposite number swann snared 9 wickets which is a real worrying sign.

What? Did cricket play last week? Sorry didn't notice, after the greatest win for the AFC since Showdown #2, decided not to watch cricket :P

Why spoil a great day?

Changes? Just play the talented kids with the vets that deserve to keep their spot!

Cummins took 3/19 and 1/24 against the Zimbabwe select XI, not bad but considering it was a bowling pitch (highest innings score was 226 and that was the only innings a side passed 200) could bring it into disrepute.

If he was near fit they'd play him?

Future of Oz, long live Patty!

Tominator

if they decide to play Cummins - he is a gun and deserves every chance he gets - but I really really hope they don't rush him into it, cos he and Pattinson seem like they are gonna have to manage injuries for their entire careers

Take your time with Cummins, CA, he is still young so don't rush him back and have him get injured again!!

BB67th

Cummins and Pattinson are the future of Australian Cricket. Don't worry too much about them having a lot of injuries now, it happens to all the young quicks who really bowl express pace. Happened to Brett Lee a lot in his young days. Wait 6 or 7 years until they are in their mid 20s, then they will be ripping through everyone's line ups.

Cicjose

assuming they will be getting game time by then............

if our best domestic batsmen are not getting called up why would you expect fringe bowlers to get a call-up?

our batting is the concern not the bowlers

BB67th

Just realised that with Patto going down we have lost our best batsman as he was leading the batting averages for the Aussies this season.

I think that part of the reason he broke down again is because he barely got a rest between the first and second innings and came back for a lot of spells in the second innings.

its me lads

Next test we should stack practically the whole team with bowlers. Harris, Siddle, Agar, Lyon, Starc, Cummins, Bird, Ahmed and We'll keep Haddin to keep and also Steve Smith and Watto because they can bowl and sort of bat. Then hopefully we get them out for not many and our bowlers who are batting better than our batters will make the runs  ;D

Maybe replace Haddin with Wade, he bowled an over this past summer can contribute.
