It was always obvious it would be a draw with that pitch. Rain just made it a certainty.

me

Don't think that you can claim that (unless you were basing that call of the radar) ... If not for rain taking away 4 sessions Australia would be in a very strong position in the match and a result very likely especially considering Lyon was bowling alright so would have been a factor potentially on a true day 5 pitch

Cricket games should be played in winter. Doesn't rain as much, not as humid, not as hot. Winter is so much better than summer.

Um what?? Humidity and heat aren't too much  of a problem in cricket, the game can still be played. In most parts of australia and england it rains a lot more in winter than in summer so I'm not sure where you're going there...Plus cricket's always traditionally been a summer sport. Rain will always be a part of the game and although it can be frustrating adds another variable and more intrigue.

Lol I know, I've lived in queensland for 5 years myself, that's why I said it rains in winter more than summer in most places around the world. Bit of a stretch to change all games to winter just because it rains less in qld lol.

Woakes out 75 runs shot, maybe if they played a specialist batsman *cough* Ballance *cough* and a specialist bowler (Tremlett, Onions) things might not be so bad this test.

Gee if warner got that throw bell would have been out by a mile...gotta get them davey boy.

me

That's 3 or 4 run out chances Warner has missed just in this test alone ... Useless ... Even trott hits the stumps more (think Adelaide 2010) ... Pretty much the moment of the series ... In fact run outs have been a feature of ashes series since 2005 ... Pratt running out pointing, flintoff running out pointing spring to mind

brilliant catch from Haddin. Faulkner gets his first wicket

me

God I'm so sick of these fake "all rounders" like Faulkner ... We keep selecting them yet they can't actually bat or bowl effectively ... Also faulkners slower balls and shower that may work for him in t20 shower won't cut it in tests ... Makes you see the value of a player like Jacques kallis who has been incredible all his career and is actually a true all rounder who could be selected on the merit of batting or bowling alone
