Anyway, good bit of trivia I found; James Anderson holds the English record for most test innings to start a career without scoring a duck with 54.

I have not hidden my dislike for steve smith, made me look like a bit of an idiot with that ton, good on him. Hopefully he gets a few more, still not a huge fan of him though. Amazingly we now have 4 aussie batters averaging over 40 for the series, who'd have thought that after the 2nd test. Well done Smith, Clarke, Watto and Rogers.

I'm starting to think it might be sensible to have several cricket threads. One for Aussie Fans and one for England/Other International Sides. These would be for supporter discussion and perhaps CONSTRUCTIVE criticism (i.e. no trolling). Then a 'banter' thread where people can engage in basically what this thread is now.

I'm all for the idea, but you can't really police people like that.

There's nothing stop somebody like Jukes or Cic from walking in to 'Aussie Ashes Discussion Thread' and stirring the pot.

Although, judging by Jukes' boo count and the fact that Cic has already been suspended/banned once (I think, could be wrong), I doubt they're even remotely scared.  :P

Love how dar never gives those marginal lbws like the root appeal to Australia ... Was way more plumb than Watson or Haddin 2nd innings last test... Australia bowled pretty well but need a magic spell that nets 3 or more wickets to bust this open

Also when are our fielders gonna hit the stumps!!  Runouts in ashes have in recent series caused many a batting collapse ... Could have run out cook early from a pretty easy throw ... Haven't seen Australia get an ashes run out what seems to be forever!

Will be a draw unless we can make some serious inroads at some point today ... Looks like England already playing for a draw again based on their overwhelmingly negative batting

Why wouldn't they be trying to win? You play sport to win, they're supposedly trying to go 4-0, and you'd think they'd eventually want to start playing like the better team because they look anything but and this kind of defensive mindset may not hurt them here specifically but will continue to haunt them in the future rest assured .... lost count of the amount of times they've screwed themselves by playing negatively

Also this pitch is a disgrace... No wonder test cricket is struggling... Makes for a complete eyesore especially when combined with England's style of play ... Slow rubbish that should only be seen in Asia
