Selective memory? Sorry but I can really only remember the last 20 years :o

What happened before this? Sorry but this counts for what? :o

Where are the stats from the last 20 years? ???  All time series results means little as Ele nicely pointed out ;D

so now you want to go into selective memory right?

if all time series results mean nothing yet you think this is the pinnacle of the sport then the sport doesnt need fans like you

No sport needs fans like you.

yet you are one of a multitude who think that the Ashes is the pinnacle of test match cricket....

which is absolute rubbish

the only reason that the Ashes is the "pinnacle" is because its shoved down your throats every 2 years

the best test cricket is and always will be between the top 2 nations of which England and Australia are definitely not
and since this is the worst Australian side in 35 years they should be grateful they have any result against this English side

and considering the ICC have said Clarke is a better test batsman than Ian Bell and Alistair Cook (apparently) and Siddle is apparently 5th best test bowler in the world (ahead of Anderson Swann and Broad)

http://www.espncricinfo.com/rankings/content/page/211271.html

you would think there would be a closer contest but even the ICC gets it wrong.......

Cic has a point, i just don't think he's worded in a way that will warrant a calm response. :-\

Be constructive, not critical. :)

Very annoyed that it's raining atm, wanted to see Ballance bat. :(

Its the pinnacle of test match cricket as they are the two greatest cricketing nations with the greatest rivalries and atmospheres. No one has said they are the best two teams.

And Clarke and Siddle are in those positions by stats, not by biased opinions.

Now run along to your fremantle board and criticise your own players. Why follow sport if you dont even like your own players?

In some cases yes that is true. I believe the Ashes is the pinnacle of test cricket tbh, as that is what the players aspire to, playing in an Ashes test. :)

There needs to be more emphasis though on 1st vs 2nd though, unfortunately this fluctuates alot, so it's hard to say. Which is why the introduction of a Test championship is a great idea, and hopefully that final can become the big thing in cricket. :)

As for the players, i don't know the span in which players accumulate points (like in tennis it's a 12 month cycle) so there must be reason why those players are ranked where they are. :)

Lol same. I didn't see the game  but apparently lyon bowled very well again, picking up 3-80 compared to agars 0-50 odd. I don't understand why there is any debate about his spot in the test team, he's clearly the best spinner.

haha thought you'd be happy. i haven't seen him bat yet but he must have some serious talent

Jukes

Agar still showing his supreme talent with 0/55, to go along with his 124 test average.

PowerBug

He's in some crazy form right now. First Class and List A average of 60+ this season, it's crazy. Hopefully he gets into the ODI squad and gets a match for England. :)
