I must admit I would have dropped Smith over Hughes for this test, reckon hughes was stiff. Nice to see Smith doing well, hopefully he gets a ton but still don't like him as a player lol. Nice to see a score from rogers, he has to open for the rest of the series. You don't average 50 in first class unless you can seriously bat.
Nice to see the Aussies on top for a change keep it up boys!

We will make a score, could be big, but how do we win the test?

Mailman the 2nd

By all getting out in the 80s

All Steve Smith needed to do was see another 4 deliveries. Every batter that has seen 200+ deliveries in an innings has gone onto score a century.

Why did Warner review that? ??? Must have got a signal from Watto.  :P

So I guess Warner has done his bit to restore the confidence of Third Umpire Dharmasena...

Yeah loving the hoists over midwicket/long on off anderson, especially first ball. Obviously has some licence to attack, good to see. Once Clarke gets to 200 I reckon we'll see him ramp it up a bit too. Steve Smith's shot to get out was awful, I kind of understand him wanting to put pressure on Swan straight away but with us on top it wasn't needed, plenty of singles to be had and ultimately he's cost himself a ton. Don't know what warner was thinking either, with those caught behind ones you either know you didn't hit it and review it straight away or you know you did hit it and walk off.

Regarding the Warning review, Warnie was saying that it appears that the Aussies have decided they have to talk to their partner first before reviewing, so there won't be anymore "in the moment" reviews. So Warner went and had a chat to Clarke quickly before reviewing it.

Clearly out, but I can see where Warner was coming from. He smashed his pad at the exact moment he hit the ball, so I guess by doing that he wouldn't have realised he had hit it. You can tell by his reaction that he didn't think he had hit it and was surprised when he was given out. Not sure why Clarke didn't tell him he had hit it though... ???

So what is everyone thinking now, assuming Australia can keep batting? Keep at the steady pace, score 600+ and try to roll England twice in 3 days. Or go for runs once Clarke hits 200 try to get to 500-550 quickly then declare around tea?

looks to be the plan. gonna be difficult to bowl England out twice in 3 days.... but stranger things have happened! cmon boys

Clarke gone for 187.. the dud aka Broad finally gets his 200th wicket.
