The British XVs 2013 National Draft Selections

#1 Jack Billings

We, the Liverpool Rams, are very excited to welcome Jack Billings to our football club. Jack was selected with the Pick #1 in the British XVs National Draft. He's a player that has played a half forward role but has all the traits of a midfielder. He's polished, has an elite kick on both sides and knows where the goals are. We feel Jack compliments our club perfectly and feel like it's only a matter of time before Jack repays the faith invested in him by the club to select him with the very first pick of the draft.

#9 Luke Dunstan

With our second pick of the BXVs National Draft and #9 overall, we have selected Luke Dunstan to join our club. We, the Liverpool staff, had our sights set on picking up Dominic Sheed, but he was taken two picks before us at #7 by the Birmingham Bombers. Luke brings leadership skills, strength, composure and smarts to the club. His presence in our midfield for years to come will be highly valued as we move forward into the future. He's ready to play and is an accumulator. He just racks it up, uses it well and attacks it hard. These all are assets that we at Liverpool just couldn't ignore.

#19 Lewis Taylor

Our 19th pick in the BXVs National Draft has been used to select Lewis Taylor. Lewis, like Luke - our previous selection, is a midfielder. Lewis has been described as a pocket rocket due to his size but speediness. His pace is something to behold and is one of the quickest players in the pool. His disposal is of top quality and he gets a lot of the pill which excites us. He's also good in tight but can use his pace to create space. Another fine aspect of Lewis' game is his ability to control the game on his own terms, this is something we Liverpudlians simply find attractive. We firmly believe the best way to describe the selection of Lewis Taylor using the phrase "big things come in small packages".

#44 Ben Brown

Ben Brown becomes the latest player to make his way to the Liverpool Rams football club by way of BXVs National Draft pick #44. As a ruckman and tall forward, Ben is nothing but an asset to us. Our ruck division is weak, only being held together by Todd Goldstein and Jake Spencer, so adding Ben to the mix deepens the depth and strengthens the stocks. In Ben, we see great aerobic capacity, a strong pair of mitts for contested marking and a competitor at ground level. This is fantastic for a man of his size. All this makes up a fine selection and addition to our team, so welcome Ben.

The British XVs 2013 Rookie Draft Selections

#1 Eli Templeton

The British XVs 2013 Rookie Draft has begun, and just like the National Draft, we had the first pick. Unlucky to be overlooked in the National Draft, we used Pick #1 on Eli Templeton. Eli has been described as being akin to our very own inaugural Monstrum Medal winner - Dyson Heppell. Templeton can run all day, but isn't quick. He kicks well and can play off half-back, on the wing or on the ball. He is a bit smaller than a lot of other mids so he could assume an outside role despite being more than happy to put his head over the ball and cop a knock or two. Eli should prove a valuable addition to our mix of young midfielders.

#19 Tom Sheridan

Tom Sheridan was selected with our second and the 19th pick overall in this rookie draft. He was one of the players from the unallocated player pool. To get Tom, a developing young mid to our club, was a real coup we feel. Our midfield is now nicely stocked to head in to the season. Shero brings a fantastic fashion sense to the club and rumours are that he and KoopKicka are getting ready to go on a Christmas shopping spree for the club's Kris Kringle/Secret Santa.

#37 Jacob Ballard

Our third selection was #37 and with it we brought Jacob Ballard to the club. His ability to play as both a midfielder and rebounding defender is handy. If Jacob does go on to be a defender for us, we will be quite happy. He's got endurance a plenty and work ethic in spades. Loves the contested ball and puts pressure on his opponents. These attributes are part of what we want from our players and if Jacob can deliver all of this for us, we will certainly be rapt.

#56 Henry Schade

#58 Jeremy McGovern

Lobsters become Rams

The club has changed it's name! Yes, that's right. The Liverpool Lobsters are no more, as the club now becomes the Liverpool Rams. The board, along with Head Coach Nige and his assistants discussed late into the night of the 20th and the league administrator approved the change yesterday.

It is believed that this is part of the image change brought to the club when Coach Nige came in. The Rams head into season 2014 in a position that the recruiters didn't coming. An even spread was desired amongst all positions, but an excess of midfielders means we have several players that won't get game time this year.

There are still more surprises in store for the supporters of the club heading in to the season and the board plans to reveal them in due course. Meanwhile, the club will sit and work out our long-term plan.
