Hi Guys,

I'm currently sitting in 9th place (equal 8th, but 3rd for total points.... flower me) in my only league i truly care about as it's a cash league. I'm coming up against my mate who is second and for me to make finals i must win all 3 games (to get a game up on 8th as his % is better) My problem is i only have 3 trades. Although i was thinking that its obviously better to make finals with no trades then not make finals with trades, so i've decided to trade for points this week. Below i'll post my team and my opponents team, Keeping in mind we are projected at an almost identical score.

Mine:
Backs: Goddard, Houli, Gibbs, Ibbotson, Duffield, Ellis (Webster, Clisby)
Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Swan, Selwood, Kennedy, Griffen, Mundy, Ticthell (Crouch, Martin)
Rucs: Leuenberger, Kruezer (Nicholls, Mcbean)
Fwds: Cox, Martin, Rockliff, Kennedy, NicNat, Franklin (Staker, Oxley)
Cash: 288,300 and 3 trades

His:
Backs: Goddard, Hanley, Heppel, Shaw, Gibbs, Ibbotson (Staker, Sierakowski)
Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Swan, Dangerfield, Cotchin, Fyfe, O'Meara, Titchell (Crouch, Hrovat)
Rucs: Cox, Roughead (Nicholls, Hannath)
Fwds: Bartell, Martin, Rockliff, Kennedy, Zorko, NicNat (Macaffer, Daniher)

So obviously because its a must win i'm considering bringing in players that might score well for players who are in bad form or plays teams they don't usually score well against. But also considering bringing in players to counter some of his players who'll score big this week.

So what i'm thinking of at the minute is NicNat to Roughy, which counters his potential big score as he plays the WB with no Franklin, but also means he will have a injured, out of form Nicnat and a likely 70ish score where as i won't. Another plus about this is it leaves me with 225,000k left which means i can go Crouch to Barlow to finish my team in 2 weeks.

That's my thoughts but i'd love some of your genius ideas to contemplate doing. Your thoughts will be very truly appreciated!

THANKS HAWKERS! :)

Vinny

Hmmm will be a very close matchup.

I would probably pull the trigger if it helps you win.

Plus as you may probably need % the more you win by the better.

No point having trades if your not in it to win it.

Plus Roughy is in amazing form and top 5 in the comp.

Good luck and hope you get up :)

So your players of difference between you two just to make it easier..

You - Houli, Duffield, Ellis, Selwood, JPK, Griffen, Mundy, Leunberger, Kruezer, Staker

Him - Hanley, Heppell, Shaw, Cotchin, Fyfe, O'Meara, Crouch (As Danger is out), Nic Nat, Zorko, Bartel

Will be a very close week. Unless he does a sideways trade with Dangerfield, I think you should have a win, just.
Nic Nat to Roughy will be a good trade long term but obviously only leaves you with two trades. I am for it however, as Nic Nat is very much out of sorts, and I'd suggest you jump off him before he loses more value. Between the two of you, I think Captain's choice will be very important this week. Anything you pick that's a deficit to you will hurt you, so I suggest you do exactly the same as him, making sure Pendles or Gaz are one of VC or Captain.

He'll be very short in the Mids fielding O'Meara, Mitchell and Crouch so that's where I expect you to take a good advantage as you'll be fielding Griffen, Mundy and Mitchell in the same slots. Leunberger comes up against a Melbourne team that let Simpson have 55 hit outs last week. He could go 120+ which would be a huge advantage if Cox doesn't fire. You'd hope Duff can come straight back from injury and JPK, Griff, Selwood and Mundy can all go big, and Cotch and Fyfe go average.

All in all, I think you should win based on the number of premiums and expected scores, and I think getting Roughy in is a great idea.

Hold until finals after that trade though mate. Good luck this week!

Thanks so much man for your time and effort on this reply, means a lot. When you separate out players of difference, your right my team does look like it will win but SC is a funny game so who knows. Yeah good call on NicNat, i'm sure lots will be jumping off. It looks like Danger may only miss one so i doubt he will sideways trade him this week. Capatin, will be a huge varible ni determining the outcome of this game and am curretnly thinking Pendles into Rocky/Leuey/Goddard/Selwood, risky i know, but as you mentioned it probably best suits me if our captains are the same so will try and get those the same! Got another big game in the last Rnd (Playing 6th, my other is a easy win) so i will almost Definitely go Crouch to Barlow then. Yeah cheers man i hope i can get up too!

Thanks again! Much appreciated!

Interestingly he has made his trades already and went:

Crouch -- Selwood
and
NicNat to Bartel

Still yet to make my trades and he is current;y projected to beat me by 15 but if i had Roughys projected score instead of NicNats it'll swing in back in my favour by 20ish.

Also he went Pendles C, Roughy VC, which is what i'm going to do to.

Gonna be VERY TIGHT!

Vinny

Haha good luck mate ! Hope you get bragging rights ;)

That would be nice, but its the finals i want!

Kreuzer may just get me over the line, will play him instead of Nicholls now, was going to play Nicholls because my opponent is too. But now i can just say hello to McBean and chuck him on field :)

Vinny

Kreuzer played well today ! Goldy was very very tired tho. Good ruck contest.

It was a intriguing battle until the last when Goldy finally hit the wall. Scott not doing any favors for Goldy. Take a look at Kreuzers stats tonight, were truly remarkable! Did just about everything and did it well.

I won by 24... No thanks to my NicNat to Roughy trade, but I think it should still benefit me long term. IM STILL ALIVE, although still need to win my last 2 games against 12th and 6th.

Thanks guys!

Vinny

Good job mate ! Sorry about the Roughy advice but yes it will pay off long term hopefully haha :)
